James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender reprise their roles as Professor X and Magneto in X-Men: Days of Future Past and are the cover men of the new issue of Details.

When asked about the consistent wave of super hero movies McAvoy responds:

“People have been asking me a lot, “Why have superheroes becomes so popular lately? And they go, “Is it because they’ve become really serious and blah, blah?” I’m like, “No, it’s not,”

For thousands and thousands and thousands of years, we’ve been telling stories about superheroes. Norse gods, mythical f—–‘ Greek gods, Roman gods—Hercules? It sounds like f—–‘ Wolverine, you know what I mean? We’ve been telling stories about superheroes and super villains forever. This isn’t some new thing that we now do and sell out for.”

X-Men: Days of Future Past is now playing. McAvoy and Fassbender will return in X-Men: Apocalypse in 2016.
