This is an astonishing week for all X-Men fans as X-Men: Days of Future Past arrives in cinemas. The latest big screen adventure stars the casts of the original trilogy and X-Men: First Class. Based on the classic Chris Claremont story, an X-Man goes back in time to prevent an assassination that leads to a war between giant robots called Sentinels and the human race.

It’s uncanny how there are also 4 big new X-books out this week from Marvel. If you’re a regular reader or want to know what’s up with your favorites in the comics here’s what’s coming out this new comic book Wednesday starring the Children of the Atom:

Uncanny X-Men #21 Cyclops, Emma Frost and Magik are renegades even among the mutants as they recruit and teach new mutants and the New Charles Xavier School (in the old Weapon X facility.) Cyclops and his revolution team are in a war with S.H.I.E.L.D. after learning the super spy organization has their own Sentinels. Who is the mystery villain behind the attacks and conflict? Brian Michael Bendis (with artist Chris Bachalo) is bringing together a storyline planted way before he even started the X-Men.

Wolverine and the X-Men #4 Logan lost his healing factor so Storm steps up as leader of the Jean Grey School. Ororo and the kids make a stand against the forces of the Phoenix Corporation. Quentin Quire (the young man destined to become the Phoenix) forms an alliance with Cyclops!? The first arc of Jason Latour and Mahmud Asrar is coming to a crazy finale.

X-Men #14 A student dies after an attack on the school. It’s all tied to the child Jubilee adopted – who is the father? Are Jubilee’s nightmares about her son’s future coming true or can she change the future? It’s the all X-Women team (Storm, Psylocke, Monet, Rachel and Jubilee) by Brian Wood and Clay Mann.

Amazing X-Men #8 is a reunion of Iceman, Firestar and Spider-Man as they friends team up to save New York. Kathryn Immonen writes a new adventure inspired by the classic carton Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends.

Fans of Michael Fassbender’s portryal of the Master of Magnetism should check out Magneto #4 by Cullen Bunn. It’s a brutal story of revenge as Magneto ruthlessly tracks down and take out any threats to humanity before they can stirke.

All-New X-Factor #8 is a mutant team working for a corporation. Polaris, Quicksilver, Gambit, Doug Ramsey, Warlock and Danger star in a book filled with action,  humor, and sometimes cutting social commentary by Peter David. A rich and powerful anti-mutant advocate has a mutant daughter. Can or should the team try to save her or is it a trap?

Those are this week’s X-books out Wednesday and the X-Men: Days of Future Past arrives Friday.
