I’ve been reading the Children of the Atoms since the glorious Chris Claremont and John Byrne era (and there was just 1 X-book) and the mutant books have never been better! This week is packed with X-books! Here’s a quick snapshot of why you got to get ’em all!
All-New X-Men #13 The fallout of the young X-Men versus Uncanny Avengers! What is Mystique’s endgame? Is history repeating itself as young Jean Grey continues to lose control of her powers?! Brian Michael Bendis and Stuart Immonen are just a dream team.
Uncanny X-Force #7 Psylocke and Fantomex’s tragic romance has become a twisted four-way freak show! Who can Betsy trust? Who blinks in the standoff between Psylocke and Wolverine? Can Bishop be saved? This is what I like to call the “naughty” X-book by Sam Humphries.
Uncanny X-Men #7 Dormannu has trapped the team in Limbo! Can Magik bring them home? The other Bendis X-book starring Cyclops and his revolution team – I especially enjoy the new recruits.
X-Men #2 The mutants are in the middle of a war between ancient forces! Who or what is so frightening that John Sublime would come to the X-Men for help? Plus, a lost X-Man’s strange comeback and turn to the dark side! Brian Wood and Olivier Coipel definitely make the premiere issue worth the wait!
Wolverine and the X-Men #32 The Hellfire Saga continues! Logan’s students are now in the Hellfire Club’s bizarre school for future super villains! Will Quentin survive? Plus, Logan’s plans for the Bamfs! Jason Aaron’s twisted take on the next generation is always action and emotion packed.
Wolverine #5 “Drowning Logan” finds our X-Man trapped in a Helicarrer and surrounded by SHIELD agents. How does this issue tie-in to the ominously titled next arc Killable?! Paul Cornell and Alan Davis make an amazing team – “Hunting Season” was an intense thrilling first arc.
Ultimate Comics X-Men #28 The Jean Grey/Kitty Pryde showdown! Brian Wood – again – shows he knows how to write the X-Woman of any universe!
Enjoy!
