The films introduces a young Jean Grey who sees a vision of the immortal mutant’s wrath on Earth.
This is our first look at Oscar Isaac in action as En Sabah Nur…first mutant who believes “only the strong survive” and has four Horsemen to enforce his bidding including a younger version of Storm, Psylocke, Magneto and a new Angel but this time as Archangel.
Watch and be worried for our mutant friends as The Apocalypse Rises:
The sequel is set in the 1980’s and continues the adventures of Professor X, Magneto, Beast and Mystique following First Class and the timestream changing events of Days of Future Past.
We see young Nightcrawler, Jean, Cyclops, Jubilee, Archangel but no Psylocke?
In the comics Angel was transformed into Archangel but why are Psylocke and Storm fighting with Apocalypse?
Along with Archangel taking flight, the Horsemen revealed the biggest revelations including Apocalypse going giant size against an X-Man (in the comics one of his powers is the ability to shapeshift his body or body parts into massive sizes) and Professor Xavier going bald in the final scene. What causes Charles (James McAvoy) to lose his locks and finally appear like this comic book counterpart? Maybe sensing the reborn Apocalypse is too much for Xavier’s system?
