Producers find the actor to bring a classic Marvel villain to life in X-Men: Apocalypse in 2016

Oscar Isaac will play the immortal enemy named En Sabah Nur aka “The First One.”

After a brief post-credits tease in X-Men: Days of Future Past this year the Children of the Atom will be pitted against one of their most powerful enemies.

Born 5,000 years ago in Akkaba – En Sabah Nur was possibly the first human on Earth to possess the mutant gene giving him grey skin, blue lips and various powers including manipulation of molecules and immense strength.

The “First Mutant” been manipulating his race since the days of ancient Egypt and into a dark future in he ruled. The timeless En Sabah Nur lies dormant for years before rising again to strike at humanity and the mutant race pushing them to a war where only the strong survive.

Now that the titular villain has been cast – what’s next for the sequel?

Baal is the leader of the Sandstormers are a ruthless tribe who find En Sabah Nur as a child and raise him after sensing the child’s power and will to survive. This is where the villain learn to live by the credo, “only the strong survive.”

The Celestials are a God-like race of powerful aliens who left their technology and ships in ancient Egypt. When Baal is dying – he shows En Sabah Nur the cave holding the Celestial technology to use in his bid to conquer the ancient world.

Ozymandias was an Egyptian warlord who hunted the Sandstormers. He was transformed by En Sabah Nur into being his blind immortal servant.

The Four Horsemen are Apocalypse’s lethal enforcers seen in the post-credits teaser. Apocalypse transformed Angel into his Archangel of Death with wings of blades instead of feathers. Imagine Ben Foster returning as the darker Archangel. Gambit and Sunfire have also served as Horsemen in the past.

The Dark Riders are a modern version made of mutants taking their name from the warriors En Sabah Nur led in ancient Egypt.

The Clan Akkaba is cult made of Apocalypse’s descendants and ensures his legacy will endure.

Mister Sinister/Nathaniel Essex was a radical geneticist during the era of Charles Darwin who discovered Apocalypse as he was slowly rising after a long slumber. Essex was transformed into his immortal superhuman servant. Sinister is fascinated with mutant genetics and bloodlinesespecially Scott Summers and Jean Grey – who will appear in the next film.
