When Wonder Woman joined the fight against Doomsday, it inspired the loudest, passionate cheer from the cinema as we watched Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Gal Gadot is currently filming a Wonder Woman standalone film but took time to engage with fans in a Twitter Q&A.

“It feels great! Being a mother, it’s very important that #WonderWoman comes back to life, we need more female superheroes.” Gadot responded to a fan.

Diana is DC’s most famous comic book heroine but who else could join the Amazon in the DC Comics movie universe.

Here are our top three picks of DC powerhouses to join up:

Black Canary

Dinah Laurel Lance was the second women to join the Justice League. She’s a skilled martial artist with a ultrasonic scream. Dinah can kick bad guy ass with her “Canary Cry” before unleashing a beatdown. Dinah later joined Batgirl in Birds of Prey, married Green Arrow in comics and is played by Katie Cassidy on Arrow on The CW. Tough and resourceful, Dinah could be an undercover operative joining Batman in the DC underworld.

Vixen

Mari McCabe joined the Justice League in the early 1980’s and is currently starring in her own CW Seed animated series and guest starred on Arrow. With the power of a mystical totem, Mari can mimic the abilities of any animal on Earth. Vixen is a spirited fighter with the ability to sense the spirit world.

Big Barda

If Darkseid is really the big bad of the Justice League films then Barda Free may join the cosmic conflict. Barda is one half of a sci-fi Romeo and Juliet story. Barda was born on Apokolips and raised to one day lead the Female Furies for Darkseid until she met Scott Free. When the warrior women sense the inner peace inside the adopted son of Darkseid she fell in love. Barda and Scott led the rebellion against his evil father and later joined the League. Barda could be a formidable foe against Diana or Aquaman before switching sides with Scott, aka Mister Miracle.
