Logan unleashes the claws and break out in the DAWN OF X.
One of the biggest New York Comic Con announcements from Marvel is a brand new WOLVERINE #1 by writer Benjamin Percy with artists Adam Kubert and Viktor Bogdonavic. Logan’s new solo title is among the second wave of DAWN of X books.
X-MEN, EXCLAIBUR, MARAUDERS, NEW MUTANTS, FALLEN ANGELS and X-FORCE arrive in October and November. Logan goes solo in early 2020.
DAWN OF X titles are launching in the aftermath of HOUSE OF X and POWERS OF X by Jonathan Hickman, which set up the new status quo for mutants in the Marvel Universe.
Percy is also writing the new X-FORCE, which includes Logan on the team. Percy wrote MARVEL’S WOLVERINE: THE LONG NIGHT and WOLVERINE: THE LOST TRAIL. I became a huge fan of Percy with his run on GREEN ARROW and his novels including THE DARK NET.
I recently met legendary Kubert at Rose City Comic Con. Ironically all the books I had signed featured Logan on the cover: WOLVERINE #300, ULTIMATE X-MEN #1 and ORIGIN II #1. Of call the prints Kubert created for the con I had to get one with Logan (claws popped, jeans, tank shirt, cowboy hat) standing on a table in a bar to get eye to eye with Juggernaut.
Logan looks to suit up in the X-MEN and X-FORCE books but WOLVERINE will be Logan exploring the dark underside of Professor X’s new world for mutants.
Without giving HOUSE OF X, POWERS OF X spoilers – the big questions are: Does Logan know the secret of Professor X and Magneto? Does Logan know the fate of his old rival Sabretooth?
WOLVERINE #1 hits in February 2020.
