After sharing the big news – I did a breakdown of the lineup on the poster including mystery characters.
From the top left – Warlock, Mister Sinister, Gateway, Blink, Iceman, a metallic bug thing/mystery #1 – more on that below, Apocalypse, Cable, Toad, Archangel, an old school Sentinel head, Phoenix/Rachel Summers.
Next row from left -A pointed eared mystery character #2, Jean Grey/Marvel Girl, Mystery #3, Thunderbird or Warpath, Emma Frost, Jubilee, Sebastian Shaw, Cyclops, Magneto, Dazzler in original Disco style, Storm in Mohawk era style, Firestar (above) and Beast (below), Bishop, Lilandra Neramani, Wolverine and a Mystery Woman with Magik’s soulsword. Note: There’s a character above Lilandra I think that’s Nimrod the Sentinel.
Next row from left: Mystery character #4, Weapon X, then I think that must be Dr. Moira MacTaggert, Professor Charles Xavier, Nightcrawler, Havok who looks like a kid.
The Mystery Characters:
#1 Sikorsky – a member of the Starjammers.
#2 Well I can’t think of a specific character but he’s sporting the same ears as Namor, Nightcrawler and NorthStar with Wagner’s outfit but not the blue skin.
#3 Is this Vulcan aka Gabriel Summers or Mimic?
#4 Not a specific character but an amalgam of several characters with connections: Magik’s soulsword, held by the rock arm of Anole he received in Limbo, and she appears to be sporting steel skin like Colossus. Could it be Meggan or Lifeguard the metamorph? Is this Rogue possessing several mutants missing from this gallery which leads to…
Who’s MIA?
Kitty Pryde, Colossus, Rogue, Gambit, Psylocke, Polaris, Banshee from the X-Men roster
Magik, Mirage, Sunspot, Cannonball, Wolfsbane, Karma from the New Mutants era.
Mystique, Sabretooth, Domino, Deadpool from the rogues gallery of villains, anti-heroes and badasses who have been part of the X-groups.
Now this image may simply represent the X-Men family through the ages with no hidden meaning about the status of a single character…but it’s fun to put on your pretend Cerebro and think about the possibilities.
