Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase Two blasts off this May with Iron Man 3. The Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One arrives April 2nd. The Six-Movie Collector Set assembles Iron Man, Iron Man 2, The Incredible Hulk, Captain America: The First Avenger, Thor and Marvel’s The Avengers.
Which villains are ready to attack Earth’s Mightiest Heroes?
Tony faces the Mandarin in Iron Man 3.
Steve Rogers will fight his best friend turned brainwashed cyborg in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Frank Grillo will play Crossbones in the sequel.
The Odinson fights Malekith (Christopher Eccleston) and Kurse in Thor: The Dark World.
Thanos made a sinister smirking cameo at the end of The Avengers so he’s sure to turn in Avengers 2.
What other Avengers villains deserve a shot at big screen villainy?
SIN I’m betting the Red Skull’s daughter will turn up in the Captain America sequel! She’s a huge part of this comic book storyline and partners in love and terrorism with Crossbones. Here’s an earlier post with my casting choices!
ULTRON I consider this insane android the ultimate Avengers enemy! If you have Ultron you have include Henry Pym, Janet Van Dyne (aka Wasp) and the Vision. This android was given artificial intelligence and hates humanity. Age of Ultron just kicked off in the comic books in which the machine monster defeats the Avengers.
ENCHANTRESS & EXECUTIONER Amora is a spellcasting seductress taunts Jane Foster and tempts Thor (usually working in a scheme with Loki) and her minion is the Skurge, the Executioner.
TASKMASTER His photographic reflexes enable him to replicate any fighting skills and traits of anyone her studies. All the HYDRA agents, AIM goons or any enforcers are trained by the Taskmaster.
SKRULLS You may immediately think of the Fantastic Four when you think of these lizard looking shapeshifters because of the Super Skrull (who had all the powers of the FF!) Secret Invasion by Brian Michael Bendis proved these fanatics are a threat to the entire planet. The shapeshifter infiltrated every team, law organization and even crime cartels in their plot to seize Earth. Fox controls the rights to FF and X-Men. What if Disney and Fox could join forces and franchises for a massive Marvel Universe flick with Avengers, X-Men and FF up against an army of Super Skrulls!
Still new to the blockbuster superheroes of Marvel? Check out my Avengers For Virgins – this was by request of my non-comic book reading friends who loved superhero action movies!
Phase Two begins this May with Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World this November and Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy next year then Avengers 2!
