In today’s Marvel October solicits it’s confirmed Kitty Pryde is a member of the relaunched Guardians of the Galaxy.

One of most surprising X-Men missing from the list of All-New, All-Different Marvel Now books after Secret Wars is Kitty Pryde.
Kitty and Peter Quill’s interstellar romance was the heart and soul of The Black Vortex crossover between X-Men and Guardians of the Galaxy. Just when the star-crossed lovers were about to reach a bold new chapter in their love story…the end of the universes happened.
Different versions of Kitty Pryde are starring different Secret Wars tie-in books this summer but the fan-favorite mutant half of #StarKat is MIA from this fall’s new books.
Where’s Kitty Pryde this fall? Here are our theories:
Star-Lord? Is Kitty under Quill’s iconic helmet mask in the relaunched Star-Lord series? The cover and teaser for the new Guardians of the Galaxy #1 features a female Star-Lord while the cover for the new Star-Lord #1 shows someone in an astronaut uniform with Quill on the name tag but it could be a man or woman in the suit. Kitty was ready to leave Earth and the X-Men for love and a life in the stars with Quill. Peter is one of the few characters from the main Marvel Universe to survive in Reed Richards’ life raft and now faces the wrath of Doom, now God of Battleworld. If Quill is lost, could Kitty decide to carry on his legacy?
Vanished? Something big is brewing between the mutants and Inhumans! There’s a cold war heating up as Terrigenesis is starting to affect mutant DNA. Cyclops and more X-Men will vanish, Beast is joining Uncanny Inhumans and Storm will lead a team of Extraordinary X-Men to take on this new genetic threat. Is Kitty M.I.A. like Cyclops and possibly Emma Frost because of the Inhuman factor?
Lost in Battleworld? The Age of Apocalypse Kitty Pryde is stalking Peter Quill in Star-Lord and Kitty Pryde and Kate Pryde from Days of Future Past is leading the resistance in Years of Future Past. There could be even more Kitty Prydes in all the Secret Wars tie-in books. It could be possible that a Kitty from a different timeline could be only one to survive. If it’s the AoA Shadowcat or Ultimate Kitty – then expect these more hardened Kitty Prydes to be laying low until she’s ready to strike.
