Are the mutants are on a mass exodus?

As revealed in Extraordinary X-Men #1 the Terrigen Cloud that created new Inhumans is killing and sterilizing mutants. To save her race from the new genetic threat Storm recruits a team to save mutants from the Terrigen Cloud and taking them to X-Haven.

The dream of mutants and humans living together in harmony is pulled part like never before as the X-Men isolate mutants until a cure can be found.

The New Charles Xavier School is closed. Is this the of the Jean Grey School or any institution for mutants?

A new threat and a change of scenery will generate exciting new story and character possibilities. X-Men writers have taken the team to dramatic and surprising locales.

Before we speculate on X-Haven, let’s look back at the X-Men’s adventures in real estate.

Legendary Chris Claremont “killed” the team and located them to an abandoned town in the Australian Outback. The original team were the first X-Factor and made their office in the Tribeca before moving in a ship formerly owned by Apocalypse. Cyclops (via writers Ed Brubaker and Matt Fraction) moved the team out west. The X-Men moved to San Francisco with a headquarters in the mountains of Marin County. Wolverine’s X-Force was based at Warren Worthington’s Colorado resort home. To escape Norman Osborn’s authority, Cyclops teamed up with Namor to create a mutant “Utopia” a sovereign island nation with mutants on the surface and Atlanteans underneath. Logan rebuilt the Xavier estate into The Jean Grey School while Cyclops turned the old Weapon X bunker into the New Xavier School.

Where are the mutants heading now?

Where is X-Haven?

Let’s speculate:

Into the Siege Perilous.

This mystical key once allowed the X-Men to start over by going into different dimensions would allow Storm to create an otherworldly haven for her race.

Atlantis.

Cyclops and Namor formed an alliance to build Utopia and shared a past with Emma Frost. Namor is one of Marvel’s most wanted after betraying the New Avengers to form an alliance with Thanos. Namor isn’t to be trusted and wouldn’t make a new pact with Storm unless it benefited his people. A Storm/Namor alliance would make for a major drama given she is Black Panther’s ex-wife and T’Challa has a bloody history with Namor.

Wakanda.

T’Challa is aligned with the new Ultimates. Would Queen Shuri give the mutants refuge to spite her brother?

The Savage Land.

The X-Men have has incredible adventures in this prehistoric valley in the Antarctic but far too many teams and secret agencies know of the worst kept secret jungle.

The Blue Area of the Moon.

This artificial, self-sustaining Earth-like habitat was created by the Kree and once home of the Inhumans’ Attilan. It would be karmic that the once secret kingdom of the Inhumans became the refuge of mutants on the run from Terrigenesis.

Asgardia.

Storm was once the Goddess of Thunder thanks to the manipulations of Loki and Dani Moonstar is a Valkyrie who once made a deal with Hela during the Siege of Asgard when it hovered over middle America. I could see the new Thor and the All-Mother finding a kindred spirit in Ororo and granting refuge in Asgard or a unclaimed section of the Nine Realms.

What do you think of the new director Jeff Lemire is taking Storm and the Extraordinary X-Men? Where do you think X-Haven is?
