Last night in front of a packed crowd at the Washington State Convention Center at the big event ReedPOP named the winner of the 2016 Western Championships of Cosplay:
AllieCat Art & Cosplay dressed as Warmachine stunned the audience and judges as she claimed the top prize.
Runner-ups Valkyrie Studios (dressed as Valkyrie) and Theena Cosplay (Gul’dana) split over $5,000 in cash and prizes with the winner.
This was the first stop in the ReedPOP’s 2016 Global Cosplay Competition Circuit and its debut in Seattle. Regional cosplay competitions will follow at Comic Cons across the world including Paris, Australia, India, Austria, Indonesia and China. Each regional champion will win a trip to compete in the C2E2 Crown Championships of Cosplay in 2017; the final stop in the global cosplay competition circuit. There, regional cosplay champions from around the globe will battle it out with local competitors on stage in front of thousands of Fans for even larger cash prizes as well as the title of Global Champion of Cosplay 2017. The winner of the Western Championship of Cosplay will be awarded cash and prizes as well as a trip to Chicago to represent the Western United States in the C2E2 Crown Championship of Cosplay Finals.
AllieCat Art & Cosplay is now automatically qualified for the final round of the 2017 C2E2 Crown Championships of Cosplay in Chicago, the final stop in the Global Cosplay Competition Circuit.
