Here are our big wishes for Marvel’s smallest heroes Ant-Man and Wasp but we now we know a little more from the big boss of Marvel movies.
Before we continue here’s a Spoiler Alert!
If you have not seen Ant-Man yet stop reading now.
Here we go…
Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) is the daughter of original Ant-Man Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne, the original Wasp who vanished into the Quantum Realm and presumed lost.
In the first post-credits scene Pym presented his daughter with the prototype for a new uniform he and his wife were working on and we can assume Lilly will be the next Wasp.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige confirms Lilly will not suit up as Wasp in Captain America: Civil War but almost made it into the story:
“She was included in early versions of Civil War but there are so many characters in Civil War that we didn’t want to do her a disservice, like she flies in, ‘I’ve got the costume now’, and she flies out. With Ant-Man, and I’m not saying thats what Ant-Man does in the movie, but we already know him, we’ve already seen him. We haven’t seen her as Wasp and we don’t want to rob the opportunity of seeing her in the outfit for at least almost the first time, and seeing her dynamic with Scott in a way it could play out, so we’re saving it. But its going to be in Phase three for sure.” Feige told Slash Film.
Paul Rudd is scheduled to appear in Captain America: Civil War in May, 2016.
