We know the creative team. We know the date. We even have preview art that may make some X-Fans speculating!

UNCANNY X-MEN will launch with a 10-part weekly epic called “Disassembled.” According to today’s release:

Where the series goes from there depends on who is left standing! In this “epic tale of mystery and tragic disappearance,” every remaining mutant on the planet will come together in “an adventure so Earth-shattering, it could very well be the X-Men’s FINAL mission!” With stakes this high, it will take an extraordinary team to tell this story.

Writers Ed Brisson (EXTERMINATION), Kelly Thompson (MR. AND MRS. X), and Matthew Rosenberg (PHOENIX RESURRECTION, ASTONISHING X-MEN) will join artists Mahmud Asrar (X-MEN RED), R.B. Silva (X-MEN BLUE), Yildiray Cinar (WEAPON X), and Pere Perez (ROGUE AND GAMBIT). Leinil Frances Yu will provide artwork for the covers.

The new UNCANNY X-MEN arrives in the aftermath of EXTERMINATION – which appears to be the end for the out of time original Xavier students, the end of X-MEN BLUE and X-MEN GOLD. No word on if X-MEN RED and ASTONISHING X-MEN – currently written by Rosenberg – will continue.

The big question will be who is left standing? Logan is back from the dead in RETURN OF WOLVERINE, Jean Grey returned in PHOENIX RESURRECTION and Professor Xavier is back in an different way if you read the Charles Soule volume of ASTONISHING X-MEN.

The one X-Man missing is Cyclops. The onetime X-Men leader who killed Professor X then died of the M-Pox virus is missing. We may learn the fate of the young Scott Summers in EXTERMINATION. As for the adult and dead Cyke – we may have a clue in HUNT FOR WOLVERINE – ADAMANTIUM AGENDA – just out this week.
