From True Blood to Hell’s Kitchen!
The HBO vampire series is coming to an end but the actress who plays Jessica has new role in the Marvel Universe.
Marvel announced Deborah Ann Woll will join the Netflix series Daredevil as Karen Page.
“Deborah Ann Woll is fiery, self-assured and inspires those around her–all words that perfectly describe Karen Page,” said Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television. “It’s through Deborah Ann’s nuanced portrayal that we see just why Karen is not only important to Matt Murdock, but is a central figure in the war for the soul of Hell’s Kitchen.”
In the comics Karen is the secretary for Matt Murdock and Frankin “Foggy” Nelson and she becomes a love interest for both lawyers. Karen’s criminal father would bring her face to face with Daredevil.
Comics fans know Karen is much more than a love interest for hero. Karen became caught up in the corrupt, gritty world of crime and drugs Daredevil fights to clean up. She’s one of the most tragic women in comics with a huge impact on Matt Murdock. The first season is only 13 episodes so we don’t know how much of Matt and Karen’s story will play out in the series.
