The ultimate Iron Man foe makes his big screen debut! The Mandarin (Ben Kingsley) attacks Tony Stark and blasts his world apart in Iron Man 3. As the third film shatters box-office records we can’t help but imagine 3 new enemies for future sequels!
Madame Masque: A creation of Stan Lee and Gene Colan. She’s the femme fatale of the Iron Man mythos. Whitney Frost is the daughter of Maggia crime lord, Count Nefaria, and started out as Tony’s lover. Frost was entangled in her family’s plot to steal Stark technology and paid a terrible price. Whitney’s face was damaged in an escape after the failed theft and she began wearing her trademark mask. Brian Michael Bendis made Madame Masque a major villain (along with her new lover, Hood) during his Avengers run.
Ezekiel Stane: A modern day creation of Matt Fraction and Barry Kitson that’s a dark contemporary of Tony. “Zeke” is the son of Obadiah Stane (played by Jeff Bridges in Iron Man.) This genius used his fortune and intellect to upgrade his own body with stolen Stark technology.
Fin Fang Foom: A classic monster born in the Stan Lee and Jack Kirby era! This giant dragon is actually a shapeshifting alien. FFF is a member of the same race responsible for the 10 power rings seized by the Mandarin. I’d love for Marvel to recruit Guillermo del Toro to make this monstrous foe battle Tony and the Hulk on the big screen.
