It’s a thundering week of revelations for Thor fans this week.

The new Goddess of Thunder is finally revealed in Thor #8. It’s a final battle with the Destroyer, a pantheon of guest stars and the winged helmet is off! Jason Aaron pays off one of the biggest mysteries of the year.

And look at the cover to Secrets Wars #2:

When universes end, Battleworld begins. The Marvel and Ultimate Universes collided and were destroyed in the final incursion.

Jonathan Hickman shows us the strange new reality out of the ashes of two destroyed universes in this week’s chapter two. In the cosmic chaos there is a order led by an legion of Thors from multiple realities.

Aaron will continue the legacy of the Goddess of Thunder, the Odinson and more hammer wielding heroes in Thors, a Secret Wars tie-in series by Aaron and artist Chris Sprouse.

When Aaron first took over Thor’s adventures, he created a time-spanning epic with Thors from 3 time periods. Now he’s got a multiverse of Thunder Gods and Goddesses to write.

“This is basically me doing a cop story, but with hammers instead of guns. This is me getting to do ‘Homicide: Life on the Street’ with lots of cosmic cops. It’s every version of Thor you can imagine, all walking beats, solving murders, getting yelled at by their commissioner and blowing off steam at their local Thor-cop bar,” Aaron told Marvel.com.

“I’ll just say that this book is probably more of a direct tie-in to the main SECRET WARS series than a lot of the other tie-ins you’ll see, in that the role of the Thors is something that is set-up quite extensively in SECRET WARS #2,” Aaron pledges. “We’ll be seeing a few different corners of Battleworld in this series. The Thors go where the action is.

Thor #8, Secret Wars #2 arrive Wednesday.

Thors #1 arrives in June.
