A surprise visit to an alien world on the set from Thor: Ragnarok may have fan speculation at light speed.
Director Taika Watiti, Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson greeted fans via Marvel Studios Facebook Live for the final day of shooting.
The director showed how they created a “sci-fi space wasteland” and “scrapers” aka actors dressed in robes plus a variety of alien weaponry on set of the sequel on the Gold Coast of Australia.
Mark Ruffalo (as the Hulk) will appear in the third Thor solo film.
Jeff Goldblum is playing the Grandmaster, a cosmic villain who pit heroes against each other in “Contests of Champions” for his amusement. In the comics the Grandmaster and Collector (Benicio Del Toro from Guardians of the Galaxy) are Elders of the Universe.
This was our first look at Thompson (sporting white streaks of face paint) playing Valkyrie. Karl Urban is playing Skurge and Cate Blanchett is portraying Hela, Goddess of the Underworld.
But a moment on the Facebook live set tour could mean an all-new version of “Hulk SMASH puny God!”
Watiti introduced an actor playing “Meek” or could it be “Miek” which could be a sign the Thor film will borrow elements of the epic Planet Hulk story. Miek was one of the alien warriors who battled with the Green Goliath in gladiator games before Hulk and his Warbound led a revolt on the planet known as Sakaar.
Thor: Ragnarok arrives November 3, 2017.
