Marvel revealed a new teaser for the upcoming event Civil War II with the Mighty Thor front and center with the declaration:
Protect the Future.
Change the Future.
Choose Your Side.
The sequel event will pit Iron Man against Captain Marvel when a new character with the power to predict the future emerges. Should heroes and law enforcement use this ability to arrest potential criminals before they act or is that a violation or abuse?
Marvel also revealed a major character will die in the event.
Which side will Thor choose?
Jane Foster recently kissed Sam Wilson. The new Captain America is seen on Iron Man’s side in a cover. Will Jane and Sam agree with Tony Stark’s position or will one of them break and follow Carol Danvers?
In the first Civil War, Thor (the Odinson) was out of the action but Stark and Reed Richards created Ragnarok, a Thor clone for their pro-registration side that went out of control.
Foster is already trying to keep the peace in a war between the Elves and the Nine Realms in her ongoing series. How will Thor affect the balance of power in the war on Earth?
Could Civil War II mean the return of the Odinson as Thor? In Avengers Standoff, Steve Rogers will regain his powers, costume, shield and there will be two Captain Americas in the Marvel Universe. Is this possible when only one can be deemed worthy of the one mystical hammer?
The event begins in the Marvel Free Comic Book Day issue.
