The Odinson’s downfall couldn’t happen at a worse time as his friends and allies must unite against the Red Skull – now armed with the power of Professor X’s mutant brain.
A Goddess of Thunder will wield the mystic weapon and star in Jason Aaron’s relaunched new Thor series.
As Rick Remender explains the Odinson will appear in the war against the Red Skull in AXIS.
“This story takes place soon after Original Sin in terms of continuity, and so Odinson is still the Thor we are using,” Remender told Marvel.com. “He finds himself at a crossroads as well, after having lost the ability to wield the hammer, and thus has begun to undermine his own confidence and his faith in himself. And he falls pretty far during the course of AXIS. Ultimately, he will be forced to make a decision in regards to his half-brother Loki that will define both of them for some time.”
As we’ve seen in preview Loki will join an alliance of super villains but is he undercover?
Avengers and X-Men: AXIS begins next month.
Thor and Loki’s new sister will star in Angela: Asgard’s Assassin so the identity of new female Thor is a mystery.
