Fox signs up writer/producer Simon Kinberg for more Marvel movies.

Kinberg has writing and producing roles on the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past and Fantastic Four reboot.

The new deal allows Kinberg to expand those franchises into an interlocking cinema universe similar to Marvel’s Avengers franchise according to The Hollywood Reporter Heat Vision.

“I have a lot of ideas on how to built those brands and do what everybody is thinking of these days: Be like Marvel,” Kinberg tells the site. “I want to be able to build stories over multiple movies.”

The beginning of a Fantastic Four/X-Men crossover and shared universe could happen in Days of Future Past. While the characters are not listed – in the comic book the daughter of Cyclops and Jean Grey is in love with Franklin Richards, son of Reed and Sue of the FF.

Director Bryan Singer teased the X-Men will face Apocalypse in 2016.

The Fantastic Four reboot is scheduled for 2014.

I sense Dr. Richards may be asked to consult on a mystery involving genetic mutation in the future!
