Producers promised events in Captain America: The Winter Soldier would have a game-changing impact on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
The post-movie episode is a game-shattering chapter that messes with your head, heart and you have no idea which side certain characters are on!
Before I begin here’s a major SPOILER WARNING!

Here it comes.

Coulson and his team have been chasing The Clairvoyant all season but the mystery villain is just the figurehead of a massive conspiracy within the Marvel cinematic and Television Universe.
Here’s what we learned and what could it mean:
Hydra has infiltrated every level of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Captain America, Black Widow, Falcon and Maria Hill thwarted Hydra’s plot to launch their Project Insight helicarriers that would have killed millions.
Only Steve Rogers and Black Widow know that Nick Fury is alive. The world thinks Fury is dead.
Melinda May is a mole on Coulson’s team but she’s not Hydra.
On orders from Fury and out of concern for Coulson – May orchestrated Coulson into recruiting his team.
John Garrett was exposed as The Clairvoyant and a Hydra traitor.
Coulson and Victoria Hand may be the only high-level S.H.I.E.L.D. agents left alive.
Hydra has seized S.H.I.E.L.D. bases including one in East Africa. Could this be a clue that Marvel might introduce Black Panther and his African homeland Wakanda – the only source of vibranium – which is what Captain America’s shield is derived.
Hand and Coulson refer to the “Treehouse” and the “Fridge” as secret S.H.I.E.L.D. bases.
At the end of Captain America sequel we saw Baron Wolfgang Von Strucker at a secret base in possession of Loki’s weapon from The Avengers movie. The Hydra leader refers to his experiments on “the twins” revealed to be Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch! Will the Agents encounter this or other victims of Hydra experiments?
Just when you’re recovered from the action and multiple betrayals producers deliver one last punch in the gut and heart:
An angry Agent Ward leaves Coulson’s team to join Hand and take Garrett to prison for interrogation.
Garrett was once Ward’s mentor and superior officer.
When Hand gives Ward a chance to take out Garrett he turns the gun on the guard and kills Hand.
Has Ward been a Hydra traitor all this time?
Is Ward playing a triple cross and was Hand’s murder staged?
With Fury “dead” – is the secret of Tahiti and Coulson’s resurrection lost?
Can Coulson really trust or forgive May?
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns with guest star Patton Oswalt as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent (if he’s not really Hydra?)
The Hydra conspiracy has been brilliantly executed from film to television. The war continues on the show that keeps getting better as we anxiously await Avengers: Age of Ultron.
