A classic X-Men battle is revisited in the latest Secret Wars Battleworld book. Remember when Genosha was a technological powerhouse built on the backs of mutant slave labor?

The X-Men brought them down but payback was in store as several villains banded together.

The X-Men clashed with the island nation one final time near the end of the classic runs by Chris Claremont and Louise Simonson. X-Men and New Mutants from every era were caught in the international intrigue as cyborg Cameron Hodge and Genosha unleashed their X-Tinction Agenda against the mutant heroes.

Arrow Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim used the original crossover as inspiration for a new take starting this week in X-Tinction Agenda #1. Continue reading X-MEN of Every Era Face X-TINCTION

Fabian Nicieza returns to Marvel and the twisted alternate universe he created in Age of Apocalypse.

The Secret Wars Warzone book revisits the epic world in which Professor X never existed and Apocalypse seized control of the world.

Without Xavier, Beast, Cyclops and Havok became servants of Mister Sinister. Magneto led his own X-Men including Rogue, Sabretooth, Storm, Quicksilver, Banshee, Blink, Wild Child and Dazzler.

In the new story, Marvel and Nicieza says the most underestimated mutant may be critical to defeating En Sabah Nur: Cypher aka Doug Ramsey. How can a mutant with such a non-aggressive power be key to defeating an Omega level mutant like Apocalypse? Continue reading SURPRISE HERO In AGE OF APOCALYPSE

Will the X-Men go down fighting the Morlocks in X-Men: Apocalypse?

Director Bryan Singer teased a major part of mutant history via Instagram:

The director was calling the shot in a tunnel looking set with the description:

“Shooting Caliban’s place of “business” #XMen #XMenApocalypse”

In comics, the Morlocks were a group of disfigured mutants who lived in seclusion beneath the tunnels of Manhattan. This hidden tribe was named after the mutants of the future in The Time Machine by H.G. Wells.

Caliban was a timid, child-like mutant with the ability to sense track other mutants who once developed a crush and abducted Kitty Pryde but his intentions were more innocent that those of his ruthless leader Callisto. Continue reading BRYAN SINGER Teases CALIBAN & MORLOCKS in X-MEN: APOCALYPSE
