Hugh Jackman will play Wolverine in X-Men: Days of Future Past and is in talks for a third solo film as the fan-favorite X-Man.

“I still am very ambitious for the character. And tonally I feel like we corrected the ship with the last one. But I feel we can still go further, in a way. If I did another one I’m 99.9% sure it would be the last, so that will inform what it is for me,” Jackman tells SFX.

What is MARVEL AXIS?

Original Sin is about the begin but Marvel is already teasing the next big event series of 2014.

In the final moments of the Wolverine: Three Months to Die panel at Chicago Entertainment and Comic Expo – Marvel revealed AXIS coming this Fall.

The “A” is the Avengers logo and the “X” is the X-Men logo so what could it mean?

In the aftermath of Avengers vs. X-Men Marvel launched Uncanny Avengers by Rick Remender. Steve Rogers and Wolverine formed the Avengers Unity Squad by recruiting members of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and Children of the Atom in a way to heal the divide between the groups.

Planet X is the current and finale arc of Remember’s Uncanny Avengers epic. Remember could be bringing the series to a close and setting up for a relaunch.

The reborn Red Skull (armed with Professor Xavier’s mutant brain) was the villain of the first arc of Uncanny Avengers. AXIS could refer to the aftermath and future plots of the former Nazi scientist.

With the Death of Wolverine approaching, could Logan’s death lead to a new war between Avengers and X-Men? Writers Paul Cornell (Three Months To Die) and Charles Soule (Death of Wolverine) have revealed Logan has lost his mutant healing factor but no one has really said how he will die or who will kill him?

After Marvel Now and All-New Marvel Now – AXIS could be the next company wide initiative with new books and creative teams.

Avengers vs. X-Men was a major turning point in the Marvel Universe carried forward by the the creation of the Uncanny Avengers. AXIS will likely be the next incarnation of Rick Remender’s epic storyline – perhaps with a team led by the reborn Red Skull?

After killing a Celestial, several fan-favorite Avengers and X-Men – and destroying Earth…what will Remender do for an encore?

Stay tuned.
