X-Men: First Class was set in the 1960’s.

X-Men: Days of Future Past got groovy in the 1970’s.

X-Men: Apocalypse will be totally 1980’s.

Producer Simon Kinberg says he and director Bryan Singer are enjoying writing the sequel with that time period.

“We’re having a lot of fun with the idea of the 80s. It’s a decade that Bryan and I both grew up in and so the music, the style, the aesthetic, the legacy of 80s movies is something we’re really having fun with,” Kinberg told Collider. Continue reading X-MEN APOCALYPSE Embraces 1980’s

Confession:

This lifelong comic book fan has never cosplayed for a comicon or Halloween.
Last Halloween I did an impromptu Cyclops with a genetically altered with X-Men gear track jacket and a pair of visors that would impress Scott Summers.

This year I may actually go out as a superhero for Halloween and this would be a test run for Emerald City Comicon 2015. Continue reading HAVOK HALLOWEEN

How did Cyclops go from Professor X’s golden boy to his killer?

Scott Summers inspires hate and devotion.

Even when he was the uptight boy scout, fans rooted for Jean Grey to choose Logan. Scott evolved into a General giving marching orders for an X-Men army then became what you could call the new Magneto.

Now Cyclops leads the mutant revolution in Uncanny X-Men. How did his go from Xavier’s heir-apparent to such a divisive character? Continue reading BRIAN MICHAEL BENDIS On EVOLUTION Of CYCLOPS

In the aftermath of Avengers vs. X-Men and possession by the Phoenix Force, the powerhouse mutants were taken down a notch or more.

Magneto, Scott, Emma and Illyana were broken and their power levels were greatly diminished. Continue reading BRIAN MICHAEL BENDIS On Future of CYCLOPS & X-MEN

Kitty Pryde joins Logan on his final adventure in Death of Wolverine #3 by Charles Soule and Steve McNiven this week.

Logan lost his healing factor, his enemies on the attack and his quest leads him to Japan to face one of his most powerful foes.

“This issue is very concerned with questions of acceptance of one’s mortality. The villain who shows up here is someone who ties thematically into those ideas very strongly—one of my long-time favorite Wolverine baddies, in fact. I think Steve and co. did an incredible job creating a Wolverine who’s fatalistic, but still up for a fight.” Soule told Marvel.com.
