FREE COMIC BOOK DAY 2022 Guide

It’s like Christmas in May! Free Comic Book Day is the biggest holiday for comic book fans and a great time to for the curious to see what all the love is about. The first Saturday in May in Free Comic Book Day at participating comic book specialty shops across the country. You can stop by these shops and pick up free comic books! It’s the industry’s way of saying thank you to current fans, welcome new readers and the brick-and-mortar shops.

Yes, there’s a free comic book for you! Of course, there are superhero books but there’s a massive selection of books including science-fiction, popular video games and history. If you love superhero movies and shows, this is a great time to check out the books where they were born and discover new characters that you might be cheering for in the future. Books are event color-coded: Green for all ages, Blue for Teens and up, Red for 18 and up.

MUTANTS For THE GIFTED For Your Consideration

Fox’s X-Men franchise evolves with a new television series featuring characters from comics canon.

The Gifted will feature the adventures of a family on the run after the parents learn their children are mutants. Lauren and Andy Strucker and their parents will encounter some familiar characters from comics: Lorna Dane/Polaris, Blink and John Proudstar/Thunderbird/Warpath and a new character called Eclipse.

LEGION Premiere Burning Questions

You might call Legion the X-Men Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest go through Twin Peaks by way of Inception. It’s a mind trip and you will be absolutely be fascinated by the journey into the fragile, frightening mind David Haller.

Legion is inspired by the X-Men character but the new FX series goes beyond the films.

In the comics David Haller is the son of Professor Charles Xavier. David suffers from severe mental illness after childhood trauma. He has multiple personalities each controlling one of his mutant powers. This Omega-level mutant has the power of telepathy, telekinesis, pyrokinesis, time travel and he can warp reality.

The new FX series starring Dan Stevens as David adds four women to his life who do not appear in the comics. There’s only one reference to X-Men comics canon but it’s an important one. Continue reading LEGION Premiere Burning Questions

CABLE ResurrXion Team Revealed

Two big guns take on the mutant with the biggest guns. Cable is back.

The final creative team of Marvel’s ResurrXion X-Men 2017 lineup revealed.

Marvel announced the Cable team will be writer James Robinson and Carlos Pacheco. The son of Cyclops, original leader of the first X-Force and X-Men veteran returns with a new ongoing solo series after a villain changing the timestream. ICEMAN Creative Team Revealed

Iceman gets his own comic book as part of the X-Men ResurrXion revamp in 2017.

Marvel revealed the creative team via Nerdist for Bobby Drake’s first solo ongoing series.

Writer Sina Grace and artist Alessandro Vitti and cover artist Kevin Wada will craft the new adventures of adult Iceman in the upcoming series.

Bobby’s younger self (along with the original Xavier students) was brought into the present. Young Bobby came out of the closet during the Brian Michael Bendis X-Men run.
