DC Comics Bombshells explodes this summer a new comic series, variants and more. The retro style depictions of classic female heroes and villains will star in a new book by Marguerite Bennett.

Here’s the official announcement:

DC Entertainment’s fan-favorite Bombshells designs take center stage in August with an all-new comic book series, the return of the popular variant cover theme, new statues from DC Collectibles, as well as new product offerings from Warner Bros. Consumer Products and DC Universe Online. The DC Comics Bombshells designs pay tribute to World War II vintage and historical depictions of classic characters. Sometimes young girls can be mischievous like Harley Quinn or noble like Supergirl but we hope they grow up to become a Wonder Woman.

A whole heroic universe is coming…just for girls with some familiar characters as you’ve never seen them before.

DC Comics is the home of Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Supergirl and more famous female heroes and bad girls. The publisher is teaming up with Warner Brothers and Mattel Toys to create a new universe of storytelling to inspire and empower young girls.

New Director for WONDER WOMAN

Warner Brothers recruits a new director for Wonder Woman.

Patty Jenkins (Monster, The Killing) has signed a deal to helm the solo female superhero film according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Jenkins was at one point up to direct Thor 2 for DC rival Marvel Studios. Today’s announcement comes after the studio and Michelle MacLaren (Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones) announced creative differences and she exited the project. Continue reading New Director for WONDER WOMAN

WONDER WOMAN Looks for New Director

Warner Brothers is now looking for a new director for the Wonder Woman solo film. Michele MacLaren has left the project citing creative differences according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad veteran producer/show runner was announced as director of the Warner Brothers film back in November.

Gal Gadot will reprise her role in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice as the Amazon warrior. Gadot is scheduled to appear in the two-part Justice League films.

A bold new direction and costume for the Queen of the Amazons in Wonder Woman #41 this June.

Wonder Woman’s uniform has changed over the decades including leather jackets and switched from gold to silver tiaras.

More weapons.
