Goodbye 2016. Hello 2017 movies packed with comic book heroes, villains, Gods and monsters.
In order of arrival here are the biggest comic book and sci-fi themed films coming in 2017 to a cinema near you:
The LEGO Batman MovieThe lighter side of the Dark Knight as the breakout star of the The LEGO Movie headlines his own film but may adds to the Bat-family to defeat the Joker. Two big moments in Wonder Woman: Year One by Greg Rucka and Nicola Scott.
The Wonder Woman DC Rebirth began with two stories alternating each issue: this origin story by Rucka and Scott and a modern day story The Lies by Rucka and Liam Sharp.
In Year One, Diana joined Steve Trevor in the world of man. Diana used her super powers to help stop a terrorist attack. Fans saw Diana deflect bullets, lift a tank and communicate with animals.

In the new trailer fans saw more of the scared and half masked mystery woman (actress Elena Anaya) and a European military officer (actor Danny Huston) proclaiming, “we can rule the world.”
The Amazon Princess (Gal Gadot) will finally hit the big screen in her own standalone film but the motion picture will shift from comics canon.
See more of Diana’s first meeting with Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) and war coming to Themyscira and Diana joining the outside world.
Director Patty Jenkins takes the DC comics icon from page to film with action, intrigue but humor courtesy Trevor and Etta Candy (Lucy Davis) and heart.
The film shows present images of Diana (as seen in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) looking back on her past adventures and take us right into a origin story.

An all-star roster of creators celebrates the iconic Amazon with new stories and artistic homages to Diana! Jim Lee, Gail Simone, Cliff Chiang, Rafael Albuquerque, Adam Hughes and more superstars rally in a massive one-shot honoring 75 years of the DC icons. The celebration of Wonder Woman’s 75th Anniversary continues. Fans will be able to add Diana stamps to their comics collection honoring the Amazon Princess. The four “Forever” stamps celebrating the styles and moments in Diana’s wondrous history in pop culture.
The U.S. Postal Service will partners with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and DC Entertainment to create Forever stamps commemorating the 75th anniversary of the iconic super hero. The stamp pane will be among other Wonder Woman Saturday at Comic-Con International: San Diego.
Wonder Woman first appeared in October 1941 in a back-up story for All Star Comics #8, in a time when female superheroes were rare. Diana became a breakout hit and headlined her own title by the next year. New generations of fans came to know the super hero via her hit 1975-79 television series starring Lynda Carter and roles in animated shows like Super Friends and Justice League. Diana made a historic appearance on the cover Ms. Magazine #1 in 1972. Gal Gadot played Wonder Woman on the big screen in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice earlier this year. It was Wonder Woman’s first appearance in a live action motion picture. Gadot reprises the role to tell Diana’s origin in the standalone Wonder Woman movie next summer then in the big screen Justice League movie.
The U.S. Postal Service will celebrate Diana’s diamond anniversary by sharing her evolution on Forever stamps from her World War II origins to today. This new issuance showcases four different stamp designs on a sheet of 20 stamps depicting Wonder Woman during four eras of comic book history: Golden Age (1941–55), Silver Age (1956–72), Bronze Age (1973–86) and Modern Age (1987–present). The selvage, or text outside of the stamp images, features the current block-letter Wonder Woman logo in white against a comic book style power burst rendered in shades of blue.
