After a long life as a tortured hero the nearly immortal mutant lost his healing factor in Wolverine by Paul Cornell. After Cornell’s 3 Months To Die storyline, Logan’s final adventure will appear in Death of Wolverine by Charles Soule and Steve McNiven.

Hugh Jackman will play Wolverine in X-Men: Days of Future Past and is in talks for a third solo film as the fan-favorite X-Man.
“I still am very ambitious for the character. And tonally I feel like we corrected the ship with the last one. But I feel we can still go further, in a way. If I did another one I’m 99.9% sure it would be the last, so that will inform what it is for me,” Jackman tells SFX.

Based on the Chris Claremont story – DOFP shows an apocalyptic future in which mutants are hunted and in constant war with robots called Sentinels. Wolverine in sent back in time to recruit a younger Professor X, Magneto and Mystique to change history and save the mutant and human race.
