Wolverine, Rogue and Kitty Pryde investigate the emergence of new mutants and murder in small town in Marvel Knights: X-Men by Brahm Revel. The writer tells Marvel.com why these mutant heroes made the cut for his 5-part limited series:

“Well Wolverine was a given,” Revel says. “If I’m gonna do an X-Men story, I’m putting Wolverine in it. And as I said above, this is a story about how the past can come back to haunt you, so Wolverine made sense because he is a character with a checkered past. He’s a killer and has rage issues, yet he still identifies himself as a good guy. At a certain point he has to reconcile these two opposing identities. Continue reading Meet the Marvel Knights X-Men

The Marvel Knights imprint is back in a big way with major announcements from the publisher.

I remember back when Marvel recruited Joe Quesada and Jimmy Palmiotti to launch the Marvel Knights line…and the rest was history!

The team rebooted Black Panther, Inhumans, Daredevil and Punisher…just for starters!

Quesada eventually became Editor-In-Chief and is now Chief Creative Officer.

Current Marvel Editor-In-Chief Axel Alonso is reviving the line and has recruited top independent creators to take on classic characters new limited series.

INFINITY: THE HUNT Preview

INFINITY arrives in August with the Avengers in space facing the threat from The Builders and Thanos launching a sneak attack on Earth. New heroes will rise to protect the planet. Matt Kindt revealed the call to arms in his tie-in series: Infinity: The Hunt with artist Steven Sanders on Marvel.com.

Hank Pym, She-Hulk and Wolverine are the leads in a “contest of champions” style call for up and coming heroes.

“Well, the contest isn’t going to get to take place. It gets pre-empted by Thanos; so in true villain form he ruins everything, including my new contest of champions! But it happens in such a way that we’ll get introduced to a few brand new schools that are teaching “weirdly talented” students,” said Kindt. Continue reading INFINITY: THE HUNT Preview

Hugh Jackman fights ninjas, his haunted past and the Silver Samurai in The Wolverine. The X-Man has his claws full with three gorgeous and dangerous women, too! IGN shared these new character posters of Logan, Mariko, Viper and Yukio plus the actor listed as Shingen, head of Clan Yashida.

The film is based on the classic Chris Claremont story of Wolverine falling in love with the daughter of a powerful Japanese crime lord. In the movie’s trailer, Lord Yashida is a man Logan saved in World War II and is now head of a biotech empire. Continue reading WOLVERINE and His Lethal Ladies!

WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN Hellfire and Bamfs!

I love Wolverine and the X-Men #32. Jason Aaron and Nick Bradshaw always deliver action and humor packed stories. Chapter Two of The Hellfire Saga keeps the intrigue going and turns up the strange as we learn more the Hellfire Club’s endgame, the origin of the new villain, The Philistine and you may finally feel sorry for Quentin Quire. The arrogant hell-raising omega level mutant suffers at the hands of his new masters in his bid to save Idie.

One of the things I really want to declare is my love for how Jason Aaron uses the Bamfs! These little mini-Nightcrawlers have been haunting the Jean Grey School and stealing Logan’s whiskey since the premiere issue. I love how Wolverine uses to little gremlins’ vices against them in the search for his lost students and to deliver some painful payback to the Hellfire Club. I could go on and on about how much I love Aaron’s writing of the popular X-Men you love (Logan, Kitty, Bobby) but I wanted to praise him for the little moments and the background characters like Doop, Toad and the Bamfs that make Wolverine and the X-Men the strangest and most consistently enjoyable X-book.
