School’s back in session with new headmasters!

 

Writer Jason Latour and artist Mahmud Asrar are the creative team on a relaunched Wolverine and the X-Men in 2014 as revealed by IGN.

 

Current writer Jason Aaron just launched Amazing X-Men and will end his Wolverine and the X-Men run with issue 42 in February. The Jean Grey School will remain open as the new team takes over with a brand new number one in March. The new series explores what happens during summer semester. Fantomex joins the teaching staff. In The Wolverine fans saw some the X-Man’s greatest lovers and villains for the first time on the big screen. Logan’s adventure in Japan saw the introduction of Mariko, Yukio and Viper but the big surprise was seeing Jean Grey.

THE WOLVERINE Sequel Comic Based

Director James Mangold is working on a potential sequel to The Wolverine. Hugh Jackman’s latest solo X-Man film was based upon the classic limited series by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller. While discussing the upcoming extended edition of the movie, the director says the sequel will also take inspiration from comic book stories.

 

“Absolutely. I can tell you that in determining where we are going I’m not solely relying on my own imagination but also the imaginations that have spun great stories about Wolverine in the comics,” Mangold told I Am Rogue.

One of my favorite creators is takes on the ultimate X-Man. Phil Jimenez draws and writes a two-part story kicking off in Savage Wolverine #12 out this Wednesday.

 

The fan-favorite artist has amazing runs with Grant Morrison on New X-Men and Warren Ellis on Astonishing X-Men.
