The end is coming for James Howlett as the Death of Wolverine approaches.
Marvel already teased a new hero will rise to become the new Captain America but can anyone take Logan’s place?
There’s no official word from Marvel on if a new hero will take the code-name and carry on Logan’s legacy but we’ve been looking at heroes and villains who could become The Next Wolverine.
This next suggestion came from a Facebook follower: Jubilee. You may be surprised but this character has radically changed from the bratty mall rat who used to be Wolvie’s sidekick. Continue reading THE NEXT WOLVERINE Part 4
The Women of the Atom are starring in the breakout new book of summer! Jubilee’s return (with baby boy in tow) led to a brand new villain and adventure in X-Men. The enemy is so fearsome even Sublime sought refuge among the mutants he once fought. Brian Wood answered fan questions about the hit series including the mutant turned vampire Jubilee’s role on the team.
“Yeah, I know there’s been some talk about how maybe Jubilee isn’t a vampire any longer, or that I’m ignoring it because she hasn’t displayed any of those traits in an overt way, but she will. Continue reading Jubilee and Son in X-MEN
Brian Wood and Olivier Coipel launch a brand new X-Men #1 next month with an all female team.
In the last volume of X-Men Jubilee was transformed into a vampire in Curse of the Mutants and joined a cabal of fellow undead trying to control their blood lust. The fireworks generating mutant turned vampire will back with the Children of the Atom. Brian Wood told a fan on Comic Book Resources X-Position how he will approach the mutated Jubilee.
“I’ll be the first to admit I struggled with the fact that I would be writing a vampire Jubilee — I was hoping to be able to write the “classic” one but it was not in the cards. But we, my editor Jeanine [Schaefer] and I, figured the way to go is Continue reading Brian Wood on the X-MEN Vampire
Will Marvel’s Merc With a Mouth and writer Cullen Bunn send an army of comic book geeks into the library and save classic literature?
Maybe not but Deadpool fans with savor a series of merciless mashups in Deadpool Killustrated, the followup to Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe.
Last week Bunn unleashed Wade Wilson on Moby Dick in the premiere issue. Deadpool will target Sherlock Holmes and The Three Musketeers in the series. Bullen tells Marvel.com why these classic were ripe for a mashup with the merc.
“Some of these books are favorites, yes. And I’d be lying if I said in some cases I’m not exorcising some demons left over from my college literature courses. There were a couple of other driving forces, though. First, I wanted Deadpool’s targets to be visually interesting and exciting. Second—and most importantly—I wanted to be able to connect the literary figure to the Marvel character—or characters—he or she might have inspired. Even though Deadpool is rampaging through the works of classic literature, we get to see the connection to the Marvel Universe in a strange way.”
“There are no rules. This idea is ridiculous, I know, and Deadpool is traditionally a funny guy. But KILLUSTRATED, like KILLS THE MARVEL UNIVERSE before it, is a horror story. No one is safe.”
From this art by Matteo Lollo is appears Wade is taking on Dracula and his vampire brides in the next issue.
Cullen Bunn begins a new arc for Flash Thompson called Toxic in Venom and will launch a brand new series Fearless Defenders next month starring Valkyrie and Misty Knight!
I wish all of you a happy and safe Halloween! It’s a tradition that I take a picture with the Sydnie and Lincoln Lint every year at Halloween but this year I’m across the country visiting my ailing mom.
Supermom Jaymie shared this year’s Halloween costumes with me! Linc is sporting Dracula cool while Sydnie is channeling her inner Batgirl! Jaymie tells me Sydnie declared:
“I’m Batman Girl and nobody kills my city!”
I think Babs and Gail Simone would be impressed! Sydnie, I have a Batgirl collection waiting for you when you’re old enough and and the parents approve!
Dr. Curt Connors aka The Lizard (Rhys Ifans) will torment Andrew Garfield in the big screen reboot Amazing Spider-Man in just weeks. Dan Slott unleashes the Lizard in this week’s Amazing Spider-Man #688 with art by Giuseppe Camucolo. The rampaging reptilian isn’t the only horrific foe in this new storyline. Spidey is caught between the Lizard and Morbius the Vampire as he tries to cure Dr. Curt Connors.
“We’ve had funny stories, crime stories, team-up stories, summer blockbuster stories, personal stories—this time, we’re going for horror,” Slott tells Marvel.com. “This summer we’re giving you a chiller; we’re going from wall-crawling to skin crawling.”

My favorite Lizard story is Torment. This was in Spider-Man #1-5 written and drawn By Todd McFarlane. And I recommend The Gauntlet storyline because I love how Chris Bachalo draws the Lizard.
The Tim Burton, Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter connection continues with Dark Shadows. The upcoming movie is inspired by the 1970’s daytime gothic soap opera. Depp plays vampire Barnabas Collins. Michelle Pfeiffer (Catwoman in Batman Returns) is another Burton alumni in the cast. Bond girl Eva Green (Casino Royale) plays the witch villainess. I have never experienced a trailer take a 180 turn like this. Enjoy! I sure did!
Will Taylor Kitsch trade in his John Carter loincloth for red leather and horns? Kitsch is reportedly being considered for Director David Slade’s reboot of Daredevil according to Movie Hole. The story is part of their hilarious feature on actors who nearly won super hero roles.
Kitsch said he would like to play X-Man Gambit again but said it’s unlikely that would happen. The story says Xavier Samuel is under consideration too. Slade directed Samuel as the vampire Riley in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.
When I think of David Slade’s film (Hard Candy, 30 Days of Night) I envision a dark and gritty Daredevil movie based on Frank Miller’s Born Again.
If this report is true the studio seems to be going for a young Matt Murdock reboot like Sony did with Amazing Spider-Man. The tone may be different too. Mark Waid’s new take on Daredevil has been a critical and fan hit. I really love the artwork on the new title – especially this cover.
Marvel and Chris Evans (Fantastic Four’s Johnny Storm, Captain America)proved you have movie magic twice with the same actor.
While this Daredevil story is just speculation – what do you think of the idea of Taylor Kitsch as Daredevil?
