Winter Soldier will be leading the newest volume of the T-Bolts with original members from it’s original incarnation. Is the announcement making you nostalgic for the ’90s?
The Thunderbolts strike back. Marvel’s team of villains turned “heroes” are back with a new leader, Bucky Barnes.
After a week of teasers Marvel revealed a brand new Thunderbolts book is coming in the crossover Avengers: Standoff.
Winter Soldier will lead the new squad featuring original members Moonstone, Mach-V, Fixer and Atlas in a new book by Jim Zub and Jon Malin.
The original Thunderbolts were villains masquerading as heroes including then leader Baron Zemo. The team evolved over the years as the government’s secret weapon of villains. The T-bolts were even ordered to bring in unregistered heroes during the first Civil War.
Filming of Captain America: Civil War is underway. Chris Evans as Steve Rogers leads an all-star cast in the follow-up to Age of Ultron.
We knew Robert Downey Jr. return would return as Tony Stark. Now we know the super sequel could be hailed as an Avengers 2.5.
The film will include Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Falcon, Paul Bettany as The Vision, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye, Don Cheadle as Jim Rhodes/War Machine, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa/Black Panther and Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter/Agent 13. This film could be the first time we see the new Spider-Man born from the Marvel/Sony partnership.
Based on the comics storyline, when the government passes the Superhero Registration Act – it fractures the Avengers and a Civil War among the costumed heroes doesn’t stay civil.

Which other unusual suspects does Bunn want to take on next?
“I’ve often said that Namor is one of the most fun characters to write. There’s pure joy in channeling that level of self-confidence. But writing Sinestro, Magneto and Namor might be too much narcissism for me to handle. There are many villainous characters I’d love to see in their own book. Guardians of the Galaxy opens next week. The success of this film could cinematic launch a more down to earth Marvel team.
Director James Gunn is on board for one more Marvel movie but it may not be Guardians 2.
It may be Thunderbolts?
“Thunderbolts? I will tell you, one time I was saying to Kevin [Feige], we were sitting on set together on one of the days he visited and I said, ‘You know, I really want to make Thunderbolts,’ and he said, ‘James, if Guardians does well you’ll be able to do whatever you want so we’ll see what happens,” Gunn told Screen Rant.
