What many fans calling the ultimate Joker story will become an animated movie.

DC Entertainment/Warner Bros. revealed the three DC Universe Original Movies coming in 2016, including an adaptation of the classic, Batman: The Killing Joke.

The big news followed a world premiere at San Diego Comic-Con with Bruce Timm’s latest animated movie, Justice League: Gods and Monsters, featuring Timm’s radical new take on Justice League icons.

Batman: The Killing Joke is the classic graphic novel written by Alan Moore and drawn by Brian Bolland with a potential (but not exactly trustworthy) origin for the Joker.
