Batman is center stage as Gotham City burns in this new and final one-sheet poster for Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises revealed by TheDarkKnightRises.com.

A Fire Will Rise must refer to the destruction orchestrated by Bane (Tom Hardy.) The film opens July 20th. I can’t believe it’s ending. Sigh

Bane’s Mask in The Dark Knight Rises

Tom Hardy as Bane in The Dark Knight Rises, Total Film exclusive

Batman faces Bane in The Dark Knight Rises. Total Film shares an exclusive new photo of Bane’s face close up. You can really see the detail of the villain’s mask. It reminds me of a Predator mask. It appears metal hands are opening Bane’s mouth. Tom Hardy told the magazine about the experience of wearing the facewear.

“It’s not as bad as you might think. You just put it on. Work out where you drool goes. That’s it. Mask work is good fun. This one wasn’t painful; there was the stunt mask and there was the up-close on for the sexy glam shots.”

When you look at Hardy’s expression you can tell Bane is seeing something disturbing…maybe the flying Batwing?

The new The Dark Knight Rises trailer is like a geek seduction. It’s starts as a slow burn and builds into an action packed, awe-inspiring climax. Bane’s voice is menacing and cleared up. Catwoman is sleek and sexy but she’s still a lethal femme fatale and we get to see Anne Hathaway attack and deliver what might be the next best line after “we’ve got a Hulk.” See for yourself – enjoy.

Batman & Catwoman Cover

Prepare to howl and purr for the Bat & the Cat! Take a look at Christian Bale and Anne Hathaway as Batman and Catwoman on the upcoming cover of Entertainment Weekly’s Summer Preview issue.

From the upcoming story it looks like director Christopher Nolan treated Selina Kyle as a camp-free world-class criminal in The Dark Knight Rises.

“She has a very strong way of protecting herself and those she cares about, which implies an underlying darkness.” Hathaway says she prepared for the role by reading the comics and studying the moves of Hedy Lamarr and Jean Harlow, the two screen legends that inspired the original conception of the comic book villainess.”

Dark Knight Rises Star Admits to Almost Losing the Script!

The plot of The Dark Knight Rises is one of Hollywood’s best kept secrets. Gary Oldman reveals he almost lost his script for the final Batman film.

“I was in a panic for 20 minutes,” Oldman told the BBC. “I thought, ‘where the hell have I put it?'”

“It had my name on it,” he added. “They would have killed me”. The script surfaced in his hotel room.

“I’d gone out for dinner,” he explained, “and I had put it in the room between the mattress and the bed, because I couldn’t scrunch it into the safe.

“I was half-thinking about something else and shoved it there.”

The actor who plays Commissioner Jim Gordon went on to describe how director Christopher Nolan and Warner Brothers protected the script.

“When he [Nolan] gives the script out, it doesn’t have the ending. Characters sometimes change, or their names change. And you have to go to the studio to read it.”

All the secrets are revealed when The Dark Knight Rises opens this summer. Thanks to Baird Warnick for the story suggestion!

Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy ends with the introduction of new foes in Gotham City.

Producer Emma Thomas (AKA Mrs. Christopher Nolan) spoke with Total Film about the addition of Bane and what Tom Hardy brings to The Dark Knight Rises.

“Tom made a massive physical transformation for the role… It really is an intense performance,” Thomas said, “He finally feels like a match for Batman – both physically and mentally.”

“Christian Bale and Tom Hardy are both such fiercely committed actors that pitching them as adversaries works incredibly well – they have such a great chemistry on camera.”

And on Anne Hathaway’s Catwoman, Thomas teased. “It’s completely new,” she says, “and it’s a really interesting role. You never quite know where you are with her.”

Does this mean we will not see the love/hate relationship between Bruce and Selena?

Gary Oldman on Michael Caine in “The Dark Knight Rises”

Gary Oldman is a stunning actor to watch. From his brooding Dracula to insidious but outrageous Zorg in The Fifth Element to good cop Jim Gordon in Christopher Nolan’s Batman films, Oldman is a true artist. Who impresses him?

Gary Oldman discusses Michael Caine’s work in the final Batman film and gives a hint at a critical scene in The Dark Knight Rises in a new interview with Collider.

“There’s an emotional scene coming up in the next Batman, which I am obviously, absolutely sworn to secrecy about… They would kill me.  Well, I’d do the press junket and then they’d kill me.”

“Watching Michael Caine work, as Alfred, was a great lesson for me.  Just focus, concentration.  He has this emotional scene.  I’m kidding you not.  It was tears and the whole thing.  And it’s ‘Take 1.’  (Oldman snaps his fingers) He got it.  ‘Take 2′ (snaps his fingers again), Got it.  Take 3 (snaps his fingers) Got it.  He’s just on the money.  Every single time.  It’s just extraordinary… You get inspired by it.”  He adds that Caine “loves cricket.  He loves soccer.  So, he comes to the set and (he) wants to get it done.  He doesn’t fuck around because he wants to get back to cricket.”  He even gave a little Caine impersonation, “I’ve got to get back.”

You can find the entire interview here. The story is a must for Gary Oldman fans with insight on his many roles.
