Howard Stark was introduced a flying car in Captain America: The First Avenger. His son Tony will be cruising in what Collider reports as an Acura 2012 Stark Industries Super Car in Marvel’s The Avengers.

Even a Thunder God may get jealous of Iron Man’s wheels. This sweet ride comes with night vision bulletproof tires and anti-ballistic shielding body panels.

The Stark Industries creation has a $9 million + price tag but gets 234 mpg. For more exclusive photos and complete features visit this Collider link. Marvel’s The Avengers premieres May 5th.

The Return of The Avengers “Mrs. Peel, Still We’re Needed.”

courtesy Boom! Studios

A confession – when I was little kid and saw The Avengers listed in the tv guide I immediately thought it was a television show about Cap, Iron Man and the Scarlet Witch so I stayed up past my bedtime. I was a little disappointed at first but that quickly passed and then I got scared out of my young mind!

I was watching “The Winged Avenger” episode and I thought sure that clawed monster could get in my house! That was the beginning of my love for The Avengers – John Steed and Emma Peel.

Boom Studios released Steed and Mrs. Peel #1 this week, inspired by the classic television series.

Tara King is on the hunt for mole. When Tara vanishes and her last contact turns up dead in a most oddly appropriate way, John Steed is called in to take over the mission. Steed defies orders and recruits Mrs. Peel to help him find the killer, the missing agent and uncover the mole.

Comics Superstar Grant Morrison captures the quirky fun, thrills and chemistry between the one of the greatest duos in television history. Ian Gibson’s art is a perfect fit for the world of fantasy, espionage and danger and his likeness of television stars Patrick Macnee and Diana Rigg is excellent.

It’s a testament to Diana Rigg who played Emma Peel. Steed actually had 6 partners during the show but everyone thinks of Emma first!

Idris Elba in THOR 2

I’d love to see the absolutely badass Idris Elba play T’Challa in a Black Panther movie. Until then we can see the recent Golden Globe winner reprise his role as Heimdall in Thor 2.

Elba told MTV News on the red carpet for The Golden Globe Awards that he’s definitely in Thor 2 but not The Avengers

Would you love to see Chris Hemsworth and Elba fighting Fafnir?

Mark Ruffalo Calls Avengers “An Allegory”

The Avengers is more than a big budget action spectacle. It’s deep. If you don’t agree – take it up the Hulk!

Mark Ruffalo who plays Bruce Banner/Hulk likens the assembling of Marvel’s mightiest heroes to an allegory about the American experience.

“You have all these disparate egos, superheroes in this and that, and they refuse to give up some of their positions in order to make a more perfect union and to join the team,” star Mark Ruffalo tells The Wall Street Journal’s Speakeasy blog. “That’s really what the whole movie is about: subjugating your own best interest momentarily to further that of the whole.”

As Ruffalo sees it, the film’s message speaks to the times. “I didn’t know it a year ago that it was going to speak to so many of the issues we’re having here in the United States and throughout the world, the same kind of theme,” he says. The actor was active in the Occupy Wall Street movement.

With Joss Whedon at the helm I expect an emotional whallop along with shields, hammers and pulse beams pounding at the big bad. The Avengers opens May 4th.

Spinoff Online captured Ruffalo’s interview from The Wall Street Journal’s Speakeasy Blog.

No Mission Impossible Takeover?

Scarlett Johansson and Jeremy Renner on sete in The Avengers courtesy Marvel.com

I loved Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. I was on the fence about seeing it until The Dark Knight Rises prologue was attached to the beginning of the IMAX version.

I’m thrilled to say I’m glad I accepted the mission. The latest IMF adventure was the best in the series in part because the great chemistry of a dynamic team: Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton and Simon Pegg.

Renner is dismissing rumors that he is taking over the franchise as the lead character. The star told Reuters that he heard the rumors and “there’s no taking over,” according to MSN Movies.

Renner will play Hawkeye in The Avengers and take over the lead in the Jason Bourne series. Renner will not be playing the same character Matt Damon portrayed in the first three films. The Bourne Legacy is a continuation of the series starring Renner.

One more thing about Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. It will so cool seeing Josh Holloway again. Holloway owns the screen in his brief appearance as an IMF agent.

Hollywood, please get this great, charismatic actor from Lost in new movies or a series again pronto!

Maria Hill is one of the coolest new characters to join the Marvel Universe in the 21st century. Colbie Smulders of How I Met Your Mother is playing the SHIELD lieutenant in The Avengers next year.

Colbie Smulders talked to IFC about playing Nick Fury’s second in command and working with director Joss Whedon.

“We had so much fun shooting [‘The Avengers’]. We had days when it was just us working — and, oh, 200 extras — but, you know, in the inner circle, it was nice to sit by the monitor with [director Joss Whedon] and watch him take on this ginormous project with great ease,” she said.

Maria does not possess super powers unless you count how she wears her uniform. In the comics Maria took over SHIELD and held her ground in conflicts with Iron Man and Captain America. You can read more about Maria’s adventures at Marvel.com. Secret War and Civil War are two excellent epics featuring Hill.
