Joss Whedon Teases AVENGERS 2 Villain

Fans can assume Thanos (the big bad behind Loki and the Chitauri’s invasion in the first film) will play a role in Avengers 2 but he may not be the main villain on the front lines fighting Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

“I’m very excited about the villain, and have a lot to say about him. But if you watch my shows, the one thing I’ve never been very good at is guest stars, Whedon tells Empire Magazine, “because I’ve always been interested in the ensemble. With The Avengers, I’m still most fascinated by them.”

Thanos Rising #2 Preview

That evil smirk! Does this Thanos Rising #2 variant cover by Ed McGuinness remind you of the chilling reveal at the end of The Avengers movie?

Thanos was revealed during the first ending of Marvel’s The Avengers that made some in the audience go “huh?” or “OH —-!!!”

“The Mad God of Titan” was the mastermind behind Loki’s alien invasion in the movie but in the comic books this super villain once wiped out half the Marvel universe.

Thanos will star in the cosmic rematch of the Summer in Infinity by Jonathan Hickman. Jason Aaron (Wolverine and the X-Men, Ghost Rider, Venom, Scalped) is revealing the twisted childhood of the powerhouse villain.
