Possible details about how much Thanos will appear in Guardians of the Galaxy following news that Josh Brolin will be the voice of the Mad God of Titan.

The purple alien overlord (who appeared briefly in the post-credit scene in The Avengers) will appear in the first act of Guardians and communicate via hologram to the film’s chief villains Ronan (Lee Pace) and Nebula (Karen Gillan) according to Vulture. As a huge fan of Jonathan Hickman’s Avengers run this is exciting news. All the plots within plots, cosmic level events and time jumping all lead to a major moment this fall.

Earth’s Mightiest Heroes have been fighting to protect Earth in Avengers while The Illuminati have committed some less than heroic acts to save the planet in New Avengers. The secrets come out in tie-ins to Original Sin.

Marvel shared a preview of Avengers #35 and New Avengers #24 as the final incursion hits in two double-sized issues in September. All the Avengers learn what the Illuminati has been doing Continue reading AVENGERS TIME JUMP

Josh Brolin (Oldboy, No Country for Old Men) will play Thanos in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers 3 according to Latino Review and  Variety.

The Mad God of Titan is a major Marvel Comics super villain who appeared in the post-credits sequence of The Avengers as the mastermind behind the Chitauri and Loki’s invasion of Earth.

Two major characters in Guardians (Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Karen Gillan as Nebula) are the daughters of Thanos who it was almost assured the Mad God would appear in the film. It’s like Thanos will be a behind the scenes mastermind ultimately pulling the strings of the main bad guys Ronan (Lee Pace) and Nebula. 1. Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier

I sighed when Bucky’s solo series ended last year but Captain America’s sidekick turned deadly enemy turned ally will have a huge 2014.

On the big screen Sebastian Stan reprises his role as Bucky in Captain America: The Winter Soldier coming April 4. The Star-Spangled Avenger’s sequel is based on my all-time favorite Cap stories by Ed Brubaker.

Bucky co-stars in the All-New Invaders by James Robinson. The World War II heroes reunite against the Kree in the upcoming book. The Winter Soldier: The Bitter March by Rick Remender is a Nick Fury retro story set back when Bucky was the brainwashed assassin. Continue reading 14 Comic Characters to Watch in 2014

Favorite Writer:

Jonathan Hickman

Hard to narrow down but it came to to these four Words: Avengers, New Avengers, Infinity!

I have never loved Avengers the way I’m loving the team right now. Steve and Tony expanded the roster to create an Avengers World but threats from across the universe and multiverse tested Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Continue reading Best Comics of 2013 Favorite Writer
