THANOS RISING Review

I feel a little uneasy right now after having just read Thanos Rising #1. Jason Aaron and Simone Bianchi actually made me feel sympathy and empathy for the most cold-blooded, ruthless killer in the Marvel Universe.

The Demi-God who worships Death comes to the planet of his birth and flashes back to his birth. Is a villain born evil, does he grew up that way or is manipulated into his deadly legacy?

As I read this first issue I was reminded of the boys in Stephen King’s Stand By Me, Norman Bates in Psycho and  Continue reading THANOS RISING Review

Captain America and Iron Man rallied to create a bigger roster of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and declared Earth as Avengers World in Jonathan Hickman’s first arc. The new and improved team isn’t big enough to handle what’s coming in the six-part event Infinity.

The Avengers will need to become a universal team to face Thanos. Marvel is revealing new details about the event that will bring Black Bolt and the Inhumans into the cosmic clash with the Mad God of Titan (and the villain behind Loki’s invasion in The Avengers movie.)

“Events stories simply don’t come bigger Continue reading INFINITY & Avengers

That evil smirk!

Thanos was the big purple bad revealed during the first ending of Marvel’s The Avengers that made some in the audience go “huh?” or “OH —-!!!”

Thanos was behind Loki’s alien army in the movie but in the comic books this super villain once wiped out half the universe.

The cosmic comeback of Thanos continues in a brand new limited series Thanos Rising out this week! Who would be willing to go into the mind of Marvel’s biggest killers? Writer Jason Aaron (Wolverine and the X-Men, Ghost Rider, Venom, Scalped) teams up with artist Simone Bianchi to reveal the origins of Thanos.  Aaron talks with Marvel.com about why he wants to delve into the origin of the death worshipping God of Titan.

“The chance to do as dark Continue reading THANOS RISING “There Are No Good Guys”

Jonathan Hickman assembled a bigger roster of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes! Now the universe’s most powerful villain is gunning for them!

Infinity will be a six-part event by Hickman with artists Jim Cheung, Jerome Opena and Dustin Weaver according to USA Today.

“The universe’s greatest serial killer is cut loose to do bad things to our most precious world,” said Hickman.

Hickman has been planning for this cosmic clash in his Avengers and New Avengers series. I was excited to learn Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will get backup from the Inhumans.

“They’re not like a team of superheroes. They’re a demographic — being an Inhuman is like being Cuban, like being Irish,” Avengers Editor Tom Brevoort says. “Within that strata, there are good guys and bad guys and bystanders and guys who just want to do their job and go home and drink an Inhuman Löwenbräu and kick back.”

Earlier this year Marvel teased Infinity for this year’s Free Comic Book Day issue

The entire Marvel Universe took on Continue reading Avengers vs Thanos in INFINITY
