Grant Morrison’s Batman finale is coming and he thinks you might hate it?
Batman, Incorporated #13 is the final showdown between Bruce Wayne and Talia. Damian was a casualty of the war between these lovers and deadly enemies. If you think killing Robin is bleak then just wait for next week’s showdown.
Morrison was asked about next week’s final chapter by Comics Newsarama at San Diego Comic Con.
Talia Al Ghul may now be the most cruel villain in comic book history. Grant Morrison and Chris Burnham deliver the most bloody and twisted chapter yet in the war between Bruce Wayne and the devil’s daughter in Batman, Incorporated #12.
Bruce is relentless in his quest to stop Leviathan and get revenge for the death of his son. The words are few, the action is swift, the visuals are powerful and visceral. Grant Morrison chooses his words like weapons. There’s no “pow” or “bam” in this Batman. Burnham makes you feel every bone-crunching, skin-mauling act of violence. Batman and the Heretic’s epic battle feels like an operatic war of Angels of Heaven and Hell. This issue delivers the battle you’ve been craving since Damian Wayne was killed. You feel Bruce’s anger and wrath unleashed on Robin’s killer. As Bruce’s allies join the climatic battle, Talia’s most horrific family secret is revealed.
This is Grant Morrison’s penultimate issue but he’s still starting new mysteries for future writers to explore. You feel like you’ve watched a massive movie within this one issue. Batman, Incorporated appears to be destroyed. Gotham City is set to “die.” It all comes down to Talia and Bruce one-on-one…for one last time?
Here’s a preview of Batman, Incorporated #13 – the final chapter by Grant Morrison.

You may never see Batman the way he could be portrayed in this week’s Batman Incorporated #9. Damian Wayne is dead. Time for Bruce’s revenge. Will Bruce commit murder?
Robin became a casualty in the war between Bruce and Talia Al Ghul. It was part of Grant Morrison’s endgame that began with Damian’s introduction in Batman and Son. Morrison talked with Comic Book Resources about his final Batman Incorporated issues:
“Well, the next three issues are basically “Vengeance of Batman.” He’s been pushed too far. He underestimated Talia, and then Talia horribly underestimated him. That’s really what it’s all about. And part of this is that we didn’t want to do Jason Todd again. We didn’t want to leave Batman an emotional cripple. The Batman we’ve presented in this run has been through some pretty bizarre experiences including weird Continue reading Batman’s Revenge Begins!
Damian Wayne is dead. Time for Bruce Wayne’s revenge. Robin is a casuality in the war between Bruce and Talia Al Ghul. Grant Morrison talked with Comic Book Resources about his final Batman Incorporated issues:

The Joker is tormenting Bruce Wayne and promising the Death of the Family in the Batman books. Talia Al Ghul’s Leviathan has claimed an ally of Batman’s global family in Batman Inc.
Grant Morrison and Chris Burnham are bringing the pain to Gotham City in this week’s Batman Incorporated #7. This is just one of Burnham’s pages courtesy Comics Newsarama. Bruce’s ex-lover wants put his Batman franchise out of business. The battered heroes lost one of their own. In this issue we see the aftermath of Leviathan’s shocking assault. Damian will take on his mother’s champion with the fate of Gotham City hanging in the balance.
Are you ready for the war? We have to wait but it’s worth it. Batman’s global team of crimefighters vs. Talia Al Ghul’s Leviathan army are about to battle for Gotham City. This week’s Batman Incorporated #0 shows how Bruce Wayne assembled his network of heroes.
Grant Morrison and artist Chris Burnham conceived this thrilling story – it’s fast with perfect pitches of humor. Frazier Irving creates a different tone for this origin story. The characters really pop because the backgrounds are almost not there but the hero’s action is featured over moody color tones. I think it works as we learn the many unique profiles of various agents of the Batman.
I’m not sure if we really need a zero issue for a book that hasn’t been out that long but I enjoyed it and it made me hungrier for the Batman/Talia war!
