14 Geek Wishes Movies & Television 2014 Revisited

2014 was geektastic year for comic book and sci-fi fans with Marvel movies, a new Doctor Who and Godzilla’s comeback!

 

Here’s what I hope to see or announced in 2014 – and here’s what actually happened.

 

1. All New Cast for X-Men: Apocalypse!

Bryan Singer revealed he’s on board for 2016 film set to star the First Class cast. After the time twisting elements of X-Men: Days of Future Past – it’s a perfect opportunity for Professor Xavier (James McAvoy) to start over and discover a young Cyclops, Jean, Storm and even the impossible task of recasting a wild loner named Logan!  (UPDATE: The new film will be set in the 1980’s and feature new actors in younger versions of Scott Summers, Jean Grey and Storm. Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Who is the voice of  teaser asking fans if we feel the awakening?

Good Morning America confirmed actor Andy Serkis (Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) is the narrator. No official word on this role in the film.

The show revealed the 88 second trailer only shows 39 seconds of actual film footage including oactors Jon Boyega and Daisy Ridley and a hooded figure armed with a new version of the lightsabre.

STAR WARS Exhibit Will Premiere At EMP Museum

The costumes of STAR WARS are coming to a museum not far away and very soon.

 

The Smithsonian Exhibition Exploring the Power of Star Wars™ Costumes will begins a national tour January 2015 at Seattle’s EMP Museum.
Iconic costumes from “a galaxy far, far away” are presented in the Smithsonian traveling exhibition, Rebel, Jedi, Princess, Queen: Star Wars™ and the Power of Costume. MARVEL STAR WARS Comics, May the Variants Be With You

Star Wars returns to Marvel Comics in 2015.

 

Writer Jason Aaron (Wolverine and the X-Men) and John Cassaday (Astonishing X-Men) will continue the adventures of Luke, Han, Leia, Chewbacca and the Rebel Alliance in a brand new Star Wars #1 this January.

 

The Force is with fans as Marvel recruits an all-star roster of artists to create variant covers for the first issue including Alex Ross, Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada and of course Skottie Young in his signature style. STAR WARS KANAN: THE LAST PADAWAN

Marvel announces a new Star Wars comic book that ties into the Star Wars: Rebels animated series at New York Comic Con.

 

Star Wars – Kanan: The Last Padawan explores the origin of Kanan Jarrus. Star Wars: Rebels Executive Producer Greg Weisman will launch the series starring the renegade. The new book is set between the Clone Wars and the time of the animated series. Continue reading STAR WARS KANAN: THE LAST PADAWAN
