STUART IMMONEN Joins MARVEL’s STAR WARS

Marvel announced Stuart Immonen will join writer Jason Aaron on the new Star Wars series starting with issue eight this July.

Today’s announcement follows John Cassaday saying he would leave after issue six.

The publisher also revealed an unfinished look at the Immonen’s pencils for the Star Wars #8 cover.

Aaron confirmed via Twitter he is staying on the new book “for the long haul.”

Star Wars Marvel comics are here. The homecoming and three new comic books were announced at San Diego Comic Con last year.

Star Wars #1 by Jason Aaron (Wolverine and the X-Men) and John Cassaday (Astonishing X-Men) arrives this week. The book will be set after the destruction of the first Death Star. Marvel launches three brand new Star Wars comics in early 2015. Two Marvel creators known for X-Men and Iron Man will take on the Dark Lord of the Sith.

Marvel shared this look inside Darth Vader #1 with art by veteran X-Men and Invincible Iron Man artist Salvador Larroca.

As you can see – the Imperial Lord was face to face with Jabba the Hutt in the gangster’s lair we see on screen in Return of the Jedi.
