Marvel sent Star Wars fans soaring in a Diamond Comics Retailer event during C2E2:

A prequel to a prequel.

The publisher announced a Rogue One three-part limited series and one-shot based on the upcoming spinoff: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story coming this Fall. No writers or artists were announced.

Gareth Edwards will direct the standalone film starring Felicity Jones, Forest Whitaker, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Madds Mikkelsen and Alan Tudyk. STAR WARS ROGUE ONE Cast Revealed

Huge updates for Star Wars: Rogue One including the first cast photo at Disney’s D23 Expo: Worlds, Galaxies, and Universes: Live Action at The Walt Disney Studios. This will be the first “standalone” film set in continuity but outside the story of the three trilogies.
