The first big comic book event of 2015 is almost here…with cosmic level consequences or two big franchises.

Guardians of the Galaxy and X-Men: The Black Vortex Alpha arrives this week.

The first chapter is a huge bookend issue by Sam Humphries (Legendary Star-Lord) and Ed McGuinness. The crossover will lead into Guardians of the Galaxy, All-New X-Men, Cyclops, Captain Marvel and Nova.

Marvel heroes dominated the movie box-office. 2014 is the year Marvel really went into orbit with a ragtag bunch of “losers” who injected new excitement into their cinematic universe.

Here are great gifts for Marvel fans inspired by this year’s hit.

Guardians of the Galaxy was Marvel’s biggest gamble yet with little known heroes who aren’t really superheroes. Chris Pratt was Peter Quill/Star-Lord who assembled Gamora, Drax, Rocket and Groot into unlikely heroes against the Ronan the Accuser. Writer/director James Gunn gave fans a Star Wars for the Marvel Universe. The film also introduced the Nova Corps, Nebula and Josh Brolin as Thanos. THE BLACK VORTEX Alpha Cover Revealed

Legendary Star-Lord, Guardians of the Galaxy, All-New X-Men, Captain Marvel, Nova and Cyclops are caught up in The Black Vortex in February 2015.

The crossover event was announced at New York Comic Con.

Marvel shared the cover for The Black Vortex Alpha book by Ed McGuinness. Sam Humphries writes this book which sets up the cosmic clash.

One of Marvel’s biggest events roars back in 2015.

 

The Marvel tease machine is unleashing wave after wave of what appears to be new takes on classic stories from Civil War to Planet Hulk.

 

Today marks the arrival of Infinity Gauntlet 2015.
