Amazing Spider-Man is going to the Ends of the Earth in his comic book. Sony is giving sneak peeks of new film footage in 13 cities around the globe. Visit theuntoldstorybegins for tickets.

Looks like Andrew Garfield got in a fight with the Lizard in this new promo photos. (Maybe he’ll be scratched by Felicia Hardy (Black Cat) in the sequel – HINT!)

Thanks to Deadline and Spinoff Online for the scoops.

Stan Lee Will Read to You…(I Mean Your Kids)

Stan Lee is not just a writer/editor/creative genius/my hero! (I may have mentioned or shown off my photo with him a few – million – times!)

Stan “The Man” Lee is also an actor, storyteller and showman! Stan is voicing two new apps for Disney. Amazing Spider-Man is available and The Incredible Hulk is available in April. The apps are for kids but I’m sure a few big kids may download and enjoy a story told by Stan.

BuzzFeed captured Stan in the Studio. Take a listen and imagine Stan as your grandpa.

Avengers, Spider-Man for All Ages

Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes Adventures #1 courtesy Marvel.com

In my weekly geek speak on Smart Talk 570 KVI I make kid friendly comic picks. We’ve had great feedback from parents who listen in and I’m happy to share that two new all ages comic books are coming.

Marvel revealed Ultimate Spider-Man Adventures (Creative Team: Dan Slott, Ty Templeton and Nuno Plati) and Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes Adventures #1 (Creative Team: Chris Yost, Adam Dekraker)will debut this April.

These new titles will connect with the launch of Marvel Universe on Disney XD where young fans can see the animated versions of these heroes on television.

The Avengers title will feature stories through the eyes of SHIELD Agent Coulson, a character created in the Marvel movies (Iron Man, Thor, Avengers.)

Daredevil, Punisher and Spider-Man Feel the Omega Effect

Avenging Spider-Man, Daredevil and The Punisher collide in The Omega Effect. This 3 part crossover blasts into stores this April! Greg Rucka and Mark Waid were featured in today’s Next Big Thing Marvel Event and included some just drop dead gorgeous art from Marco Checcetto, Marcos Martin and Steve McNiven!

Mark Waid recapped that Daredevil discovered a device with secrets about the five biggest criminal organizations in the Marvel Universe.

“Matt is trying to figure out the best application for this thing when Frank Castle knocks on the door.” -Waid

“When Frank finds out about the drive and what’s on it, he figures he should have that. ‘I can keep it safe and I can use it properly.’ Matt hears that as ‘I can keep it safe and I can use it to kill lots of people.’ So you see the conflict immediately.” -Rucka

The two writers are working together on Avenging Spider-Man #6 kicking off the story. Reed Richards recruits Spider-Man to recover this device he invented.

“It’s several players from different walks of life with similar goals who try to work together, but as the story progresses, different allegiances arise and backstabbing take place.” -Waid

“When Mark told me some of his bigger plans for Daredevil, it became clear to me that some of the things I was doing in Punisher fit. We’re working together without bending or breaking either of our books.” -Rucka

“Daredevil has been in the ‘Why hasn’t he committed suicide yet?’ phase for so long. The new lease on life Mark has given Matt makes him, honestly, more fun. Mark never forgets the wonder that makes super hero universes so vibrant. You never forget that Matt is blind, and that is a detriment, but there is something quite beautiful and elegant in the way Mark never lets you forget both the blessing and curse of that.” -Rucka

The Punisher #10 courtesy Marvel.com

“What Greg has done with Punisher not only in print, but as I’ve talked to him, he’s given me an understanding of a character I up to this have never given a nickel about. Not only has Greg explained his mission from his point of view, but he’s given him an accomplice, which gives me an emotional hook for the character. Daredevil has made peace with never being able to change Frank, but maybe there’s some hope for redemption elsewhere.” -Mark Waid

Spider-Man is caught between these two and Waid praised what Dan Slott is doing with Peter Parker.

“The whole new rule of Spider-Man, the law of Dan Slott, is that nobody dies. I love that. It makes him unique and strong in the Marvel Universe. And to throw him up against The Punisher with that point of view…” -Mark Waid

Avengers Versus X-Men: Thunder, Ice and Webs!

Marvel reveals two more exciting Avengers Versus X-Men match-ups today:

AVX image courtesy Marvel.com

Storm Versus Thor – Can the mutant weather manipulator face the God of Thunder? Storm is an X-Man and recently joined the Avengers. During the Asgardian Wars Loki enhanced Ororo’s power. As much as I love Storm, I said in a earlier post that I was afraid an X-Woman may be sacrificed in this cross-over. Ororo’s connections to both teams creates great drama and I don’t think she can survive the full force of Thor.

Spider-Man Versus Iceman – The resident funny man of each super-team in a brawl? Peter Parker has bested a variety of foes but Bobby Drake is an omega-level mutant who recently reached a new level of power control in Wolverine and The X-Men #2. Spidey gets iced.

Top 10 for 1/11/12

Wolverine #300 cover by Adam Kubert courtesy Marvel.com

Wolverine #300 Logan travels back to Japan to face his most dangerous enemy yet. The evil hits home when a brand new Silver Samurai claims Wolverine’s daughter as his own. Jason Aaron’s final arc on Logan’s solo series begins here. Bring the pain!

The Incredible Hulk #4 It’s freaky to think that Bruce Banner’s mind may be more dangerous than the Hulk! It’s the Green Goliath versus an army of Hulked out monsters that call Bruce dad!

Batgirl #5 Batgirl is reeling from the shocking return of a ghost from her past but there’s no time for therapy because a new killer is stalking Gotham City. No man can resist the power of Gretel not even guest star Bruce Wayne.

Amazing Spider-Man #677 Spidey and Daredevil team up in what Marvel is calling the next great love triangle. Matt Murdock is on the case when Black Cat is arrested. This is part one of a cross-over in which the femme fatale gets her claws into Spider-Man and Daredevil.

Cobra Annual 2012 The Origin of Cobra G.I. Joe’s archenemy gets the spotlight! A new Cobra Commander emerges in the aftermath of the Cobra Civil War. All this classified info is ripped and revealed in a first ever all Cobra issue from legendary writer Chuck Dixon.

New Amazing Spider Man Pics

Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker in Amazing Spider Man courtesy Sony

Teases from Amazing Spider Man keep spinning. Today on the film’s facebook page are three new stills – one featuring Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy in class, one of Denis Leary taking aim as Captain Stacy and Andrew Garfield – not in costume – as  Peter Parker ready to swing into action.

Leaping Lizard!

Amazing Spider Man movie buzz is swinging into action! The Lizard is the villian of the Spidey reboot. Now fans have an idea of what the reptilian foe will look like on the big screen – or do they? The web is wild with skepticism.

First there was the EXPOSED BY PEZ icident reported by MTV News. Apparently Pez has a licensing deal with Sony. Pez dispenser mockups featuring the heads of Spider Man and the Lizard hit the internet.

Today there’s leaked concept art on SpiderMedia.ru courtesy of Coming Soon. What do you think? Pretty creepy but this looks like the doctor is still in transition phase but not full Lizard.

Rhys Ifans plays Dr. Curt Connors who will become the Lizard in Amazing Spider Man. To learn more about the Lizard here’s the Marvel.com bio.

My favorite Lizard story is Torment. This was in Spider-Man #1-5 written and drawn my Todd McFarlane. And I recommend The Gauntlet storyline because I love how Chris Bachalo draws the Lizard.
