The Skrulls are set to make a huge comeback in Infinity! The last time the Avengers and shapeshifters clashed as enemies in Secret Invasion.
The threat of Thanos and the Builders forces bitter rivals into an uneasy alliance but can they be trusted? (That would be a NO!)
Marvel shared a first look at Infinity tie-in issue Avengers #18 by Jonathan Hickman and Leinil Yu (Yu was the artist on Secret Invasion, too.) Hickman explains how the new Skrull race is drawn into the cosmic conflict: Continue reading Enter SKRULLS in AVENGERS #18 Preview

Infinity is the cosmic event of the year that Jonathan Hickman has been building up to in Avengers and New Avengers. Marvel’s Infinity Free Comic Book Day by Hickman and Jim Cheung set the stage for the brutal conflict to come and introduced a powerful new villain the Marvel Universe.
You know he’s a bad if he works for Thanos! Corvus Glave is a “General” in the next campaign of Thanos. Take a look below at Jim Cheung’s design for the sinister enforcer of the Mad God of Titan’s agenda from Marvel.
This new alien warrior stole the show in the FCBD issue but look who’s back! Check out the cover of Avengers #18 by Leinil Yu. Earth’s Mightiest Heroes fought off a Secret Invasion of the Skrulls. Now the Avengers must rely on the aggressive shape-shifters for help?
Action, teen angst, hooking up and making out! Marvel has a new teenage dream! Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie with Mike Norton rebuild Earth’s Mightiest Teens and infuse Young Avengers #1 with the hormonal energy, fury and fun of electric youth!
The creative team have HUGE shoes to fill. Allan Heinberg and Jim Cheung’s Young Avengers run was perfection. Excitement, anticipation and maybe a little trepidation has been building since the announcement of this series. Gillen and McKelvie deliver the heart of the original but give this new “assembling” of teen heroes an edge.
In the finale of Avengers: The Children’s Crusade the team called it quits. In the premiere Wiccan and Hulkling are struggling with their vow to stop the superheroics and Kate Bishop is enjoying an “out of this world” new boyfriend when classic foes attacks. Kid Loki, Noh-Varr and Miss America infuse the teen soap with passion and danger and Gillen delivers one mother of a cliffhanger!
My most anticipated Marvel Now book overdelivers. Young Avengers #1 is packed with fun, heart, humor, action in a stylish narrative packed with promise and substance.
Does the impeding Avengers Vs. X-Men epic have you longing for events past? X-Men #29 is just what the event addict ordered. In Marvel’s May solicit for the issue by Victor Gischler and Will Conrad, relive Secret Invasion when the Skrulls conquered Earth.
In X-Men #29 a team of the shapeshifters infiltrates the X-Men. Pixie is taken hostage “or did she go by choice?”
I loved all of Secret Invasion especially the X-Men limited series. I wouldn’t mind some more Skrull-crushing!
The biggest secret of Marvel’s The Avengers is Loki’s secret army. Executives deny the Skrulls are involved but speculation keeps growing. MTV Geek revealed new evidence that the reptilian shapeshifters may be in the big screen flick.
A new strategy game at Toy Fair 2012 revealed your favorite Avengers and pink warriors that sure look like Skrulls. Here’s the link where you can see the board game including the pink warriors.
We’ll finally know the identity of Loki’s secret army May 4th. If you want a great read about the Skrulls check out Secret Invasion, here’s the link to buy.
If you want to go way back then dive into the Kree-Skrull War when Earth is caught in the crossfire of Marvel’s two biggest alien empires.
In Marvel Comics history Loki’s scheming causes the Avengers to assemble. Loki is the main villain behind the big screen assembling of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes but who has his back against combined forces of Thor, Iron Man, Captain America and SHIELD?
Clark Gregg plays SHIELD Agent Coulson in Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor and The Avengers. Comic Book Movie has an exclusive with the actor.
When asked if fans will recognize Loki’s army, Gregg responded, “Well I guess that will depend on the fan and what they’ve read and what they’ve seen,” said Gregg. Jokingly, he went on to say, “I mean if they’re fans of Land of the Lost then they won’t be surprised to see Loki show up with a bunch of Sleestaks. I think everyone is going to be surprised to see Loki get out of a Romulan ship is all I’m going to say.”
The answer could get minds warping with all kinds of speculation. It certainly could add fuel to the fire that the Skrulls are allied with Loki. The Skrull are reptilian aliens with shapeshifting powers.
In Marvel history, when Kree-Skrull War threatened Earth the Avengers held the line. In the epic Secret Invasion – the Skrulls infiltrated every super hero team with shapeshifters in their plot to conquer our planet.
Being the God of Mischief, Loki is likely to be the instigator of a conflict between Earth and the Skrulls – if that turns out to be the case.
Special note: The Tesseract was a device from Asgardian myth sought after by the Red Skull in the Captain America movie. This device is a variation (different name though) of the Cosmic Cube. In Marvel history, it was theorized that the Skrulls created one of the Cosmic Cubes.
