The web of Spider-Man is getting bigger as Sony bets on the webslinger’s universe of villains.
“We are expanding the ‘Spider-Man’ universe into ‘The Sinister Six’ and ‘Venom,’ so that we have ‘Spider-Man’ movies every year,” says Sony co-chair Amy Pascal in a new Variety story.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens May 2nd. Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) takes on Electro, Rhino but Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan) will transform into the Green Goblin and not to mention Harry Osborn (Chris Cooper) may or may not an off-camera nemesis. B.J. Novak has been revealed as Alistair Smythe, creator of the Spider-Slayer robots. Spider-Man went from Amazing to Superior with Otto Octavius in control of Peter Parker’s body. A Superior Hero (at least Doc Ock thinks he is) deserves a Superior rogues gallery! Nick Spencer and Steve Lieber recruit an all-new Sinister Six to took on the new Spidey. Marvel revealed Peter Parker’s new suit in the final teaser image for The Ends of the Earth. Dan Slott’s latest epic pits Spidey against Doctor Octopus and his Sinister Six starting with Amazing Spider-Man #682.
The solicitation says “Earth’s Mightiest” will join Spidey in his fight. I wonder if this new costume is Stark Tech and what special features it’s packing?

The Ends of the Earth is the next big epic from Dan Slott beginning with Amazing Spider-Man #682. Peter Parker and his Avenging Friends face Doctor Octopus and his new Sinister Six. In this final image – it appears Spidey is working a new suit – at least it’s not Spider-Armor! Thanks to comics newsarama for collecting ’em all. They have a great breakdown for each teaser too.

Spider-Island wasn’t big enough! The world is about to become Spider-Man’s arena against one of his oldest foes. The journey to Amazing Spider-Man #700 takes Peter Parker to The Ends of the Earth. Marvel revealed story details on Amazing Spider-Man’s 50th Anniversary in today’s presser.
Writer Dan Slott on Doc Ock, “He’s got one shot for one master plan. He’s going for the whole thing. He’s going for the world. … This is Otto Octavius’s big grab for the greatest master plan of all time.” Slott further said that the story would rival (“Rivals? Ha! Ha, I say!” said Slott) the scope of Spider-Island and this would be “Otto Octavius Earth,” which would see Spider-Man operating on a global level to stop his arch-rival.
Slott teased that the Sinister Six lineup might change by the end of this story and “Spider-Man has designed a new suit and this is a suit specifically designed to go to war with the Sinister Six.”
This story will tie-in to the Amazing Spider-Man movie with an epic battle with the Lizard.
