The Seattle International Film Festival is almost here with 450 films from 92 countries screening in cinemas across the Emerald City. What’s in it for the comic book geek or sci-fi fan?
The strange connection between Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Seattle International Film Festival continues. Every year Seattle welcomes films from around the world along with several actors and directors supporting their independent productions. Two festivals in row brought multiple stars from Marvel’s Cinematic Universe aligning on the Red Carpet in the Emerald City.
Hayley Atwell (Marvel’s Agent Carter, Captain America films) is scheduled to appear at the Seattle International Film Festival Opening Night event on May 15th.
Clark Gregg manages to fight evil Hydra agents and super villains on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and write and direct his own film.
The Seattle International Film Festival just revealed a surprise addition to the 2014 lineup. SIFF favorite Clark Gregg will return to Seattle with Trust Me, a “biting satire about life in Hollywood and the struggle to keep dreams of greatness alive.”
Gregg plays Agent Phil Coulson on Marvel’sAgents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and in The Avengers and is a frequent collaborator with Joss Whedon. Gregg brought his directorial debut, Choke, to SIFF 2008 after winning the Special Jury Prize for Ensemble Cast at the Sundance Film Festival. Browncoats and science fiction have a very stellar reason to attend the Seattle International Film Festival. Acclaimed actor Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave) will receive a SIFF Award for Outstanding Achievement in Acting prior to the screening of Half of a Yellow Sun on May 19th.
While Brad Pitt is searching the globe for the cause and cure of a zombie outbreak in World War Z this weekend – the British undead are rising in the Pacific Northwest!
Good thing we have some cocky Cockneys (including a classic 007 Bond girl) on our side!

When the undead rise in East London – two bank robber brothers take a stand with their grandfather in a retirement home! Watch as two generations team up to take on a zombie army in this hilarious and gory new chapter adding fresh blood to the zombie genre! Director Matthias Hoene will be in attendance!
This film has a special star…on might even say a “Golden” girl! Honor Blackman (Pussy Galore of the James Bond film Goldfinger and Cathy Gale of The Avengers) is part of the cast of this zomedy!
If that’s not enough for you fanboys and girls! Michelle Ryan (from Doctor Who episode Planet of the Dead) goes gunning for the undead in this hilarious and horrific adventure in East London!
