Captain America: The Winter Soldier is almost here. The latest adventure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe pits Steve Rogers against ruthless new enemies and a conspiracy within S.H.I.E.L.D. Here’s what you need to know to catch up and be ready for the sequel:

 

Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) was a skinny kid from Brooklyn with a big heart, sense of honor and desire to serve his country in World War II. Given the code name Captain America – Steve would defeat the Red Skull’s Hydra invasion but with a price. Steve crashed the Hydra plane into the ice and would be frozen in time.  Steve was revived by S.H.I.EL.D. and would lead Earth’s Mightiest Heroes against an alien invasion in The Avengers. Chris Evans returns as Steve Rogers in Captain America: The Winter Soldier in 2014. The sequel is based on the modern classic story by Ed Brubaker in which Cap faces an old friend turned foe.

Captain America Ally Returns for Winter Soldier Sequel

 Sebastian Stan will be back for Captain America: The Winter Soldier according to Variety. Stan has a 6 picture deal with Marvel Films. In the storyline by Ed Brubaker Steve’s best friend Bucky survived the accident in World War Two, was rescued by the KGB, brainwashed and turned into a killing machine known as the Winter Soldier. The KGB revived and froze Bucky for missions throughout the decades. Steve confronts and tries to save his former best friend turned deadly enemy.

  Bucky now stars with Black Widow in a Winter Soldier ongoing comic book by Brubaker. With Stan’s deal in place could we see a Winter Soldier solo movie in the future?

“Captain America: The First Avenger” Star Goes to Washington

  Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes in Captain America: The First Avenger) joined the cast of Political Animals according to Deadline. Stan will play the son of a former First Lady played by Sigourney Weaver. The 6 episode USA drama will focus on the fictional political family based in Washington, DC.

Here’s hoping Stan will be seen again in a Captain America 2 as Bucky reborn at The Winter Soldier.
