2018 Pacific Northwest Geek Guide

There’s something in the air and water – or maybe it’s all the tech? We have an abundance of cons for comics, sci-fi and anime that bring thousands and thousands of fans together in the Pacific Northwest. We even get to the chance to see cool new exhibits (Yes, that’s Spidey swinging across Seattle! Big news below!) and celebrities ready to greet their devoted fans.

2018 will bring a major comic book experience along with anticipated events to bring out the geek in all of us. Even if you don’t know your Marvel from DC, Star Wars from Trek, Warcraft from Destiny or Sailor Moon from Pokemon – you can still be of part of the fun. You’ve seen them as supporting players in Fantastic Four and Avengers saga but the Inhumans are going big time at Marvel!

 

How big? Matt Fraction and Joe Madureira big. Their own event and series big.

 

We’ll know a lot more after the events of Infinity #4 but at Rose City Comic Con this past weekend writer Matt Fraction explained that Inhumanity is a status quo and not an event like the Dark Reign followed Secret Invasion.

Thousands of comic book and sci-fi fans packed the Oregon Convention Center for Rose City Comic Con this weekend. In just one year the Portland con quadrupled its show size with more celebrity guests, more panels, more game tournaments and more everything geek-tastic in a town that’s known for comics.

Rose City Comic Con will welcome what you could call Marvel’s power couple: Matt Fraction (currently writing Fantastic Four, FF, Hawkeye and known for his runs on Uncanny X-Men, Invincible Iron Man, The Mighty Thor and his creator owned Casanova) and Kelly Sue DeConnick (writer of Captain Marvel, Avengers Assemble, Avenging Spider-Man, Castle and Ghost for Dark Horse.)

Rose City Comic Con will held September 21st and 22nd in Portland, Oregon. Fraction and DeConnick are appearing at Emerald City Comicon in Seattle March 1-3.

Rose City Comic Con Welcomes GRIMM Star

Rose City Comic Con goes close to home for their first celebrity guest announcement! David Giuntoli of the Portland-based supernatural series Grimm will be at the event both days. The actor plays Detective Nick Burkhardt. This police officer is descended from a line of guardians called Grimms protecting humanity from mythological creatures.

Comic book creators scheduled to appear in Adam Hughes, Matthew Clark, Joelle Jones, Brandon Seifert, Ethan Nicholle, and Jamie S. Rich.

Rose City Comic Con takes place September 21-22, 2013 at the Oregon Convention Center.
